3DP, Bass Guitar, Crocus, Rain, Mist, Sunset, Bass Stand, Fly Tying, Kraken Krush - Thursday
The thread holders came off the printer yesterday morning and they are pretty slick. I like how I can squeeze the sides to tighten the thread. They still need some cleaning up to remove any sharp burrs and the such.

I was surprised to see J's new bass guitar arrive so early, along with the heat dish for my carport. I figured out the knobs and plugged into the amp and tested it out to make sure everything works right. With that I got the printer going on the folding stand I had found.

I went down to water the plants in the studio and found the crocus have started popping through the soil in the pots.

THIS was headed right fer us! I ran around the farm and got stuff under cover.

Then also before it hit I got the hoist hauled into the carport.

It was about 12:30 when the downpour began and lasted a few hours.

The legs finished and then the 7 hr print started for the rest of the parts.

It looked like the storm was about to rush by and the rains to stop.

I pulled my feather bag open, this is the bag I have stuffed feathers into for 15 years, all eagle feathers from beneath our eagle's nest and preening trees. I got out a very nice selection of varied colors and textures for fly tying.

J got home and fell in love with his bass.

The rains had stopped as I drove up to get R from after STEM.

The mists were super cool looking in the trees.

On our way home the sunset was badass.

Again the mists in the trees.

The sky was exploding in color.

We got home and the evening went by quickly as it continued to rain and we watched hockey.

@stryeyz had bible study and I tried tying my first fly in MANY years.

Trying out some porcupine guard hair.

Then I used downy eagle feather which I am very anxious to see its action in the water. I'm tying brighter as the first fly I used had white wings and was getting hit constantly. Switching to darker flies has lead me to fewer and fewer bites. This thing SUCKS in general but I have to practice or else they will always be shitty. I used the uv glue for the first time as well and it seemed to set correct.

The Kraken played and it was a back and forth game until near the end when they blew them out of the rink.

The stand parts finally finished and I got the screws printing.

The finished stand is pretty slick. It folds somewhat or comes apart easily for transport.

And he actually was able to make a spot for it in his pig sty of a room.

I have no clue if this thing will work or not. I will find out today when I head over to the river.

The rain just kept piling in and it was dumping pretty good anytime I opened a door to hear the clatter on the roof.

The final minutes saw the Kraken put the game away with open net goal.

I got the power wire wrap printed which I will install on the back of J's amp for the power cord. I may print another for the sound cord as well... But that can disconnect fully and go in a pocket... We will need to get him a better padded case as this one is super thin, but works for the moment.

Today I'll get the boys to school, likely start in on the engine, PDC is on mid day, I'll go to the co-op pickup, go try my fly in the river, tie another fly or two, and there is always cleaning and organizing that can be done around the farm.
