So Near yet so Far! Dreams like Clouds in Big Cross at Bantayan Island Philippines.

Good day, Hivers! How’s your day? I hope your day is better while reading my blog. Today I want to share my realization behind this picture.

The picture was taken by my husband.

The picture was taken in Brgy. Kabangbang, Bantayan Island, Northern Cebu. It was my co-worker during college who brought me and my husband to a place named Big Cross. To reach the place, you need to climb the mountain first. The place was so far from the main road. It was behind the quarry of Kabangbang. I was very exhausted while reaching the place since I’m not used to climbing mountains. I easily get tired. But I was interested to see the place that I tried myself not to surrender and continue climbing.

As we reached the place, I was amazed by its topography. As you see in the picture, the Big Cross seems to reach the clouds. As we took the photo opportunity, the result was amazing. The pictures show how the clouds were so reachable yet in reality, it was so far from us.

Have you ever experienced that situation? So near yet so far? The picture is like our dreams in life. When I was young, I dreamed of being a veterinarian, where I would be the one to treat the sickness of animals. Why do I choose to be a Doctor of Animals? Well, a doctor is not a hero to all, sometimes, if the patient is destined to die, he will die. Doctors are not powerful; it will always be God’s will if the patient will live or not. The doctor is the God’s instrument. Seeing an animal die would be less painful for me, I think.

It is so easy to dream when you where young. Only to find out the reality, if you come from a humble family, it takes a long path to reach it. It’s a good example that, so near yet so far.

I didn’t reach my dream because God had a reason for it. The evidence was when the first dog we had since my husband and I lived separately from our parents, died. I cried a lot. It takes me a whole day to understand the situation. It gave me trauma not to take care of another dog because I was afraid it would die again. Maybe, I did not become a Doctor of Animals for the reason that I cried every time an animal died. Or we are just poor. Hahaha
