(ENG-ESP) PAINTING MY CITY ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF ITS FOUNDATION (471 years) PINTANDO MI CIUDAD EN EL ANIVERSARIO DE SU FUNDACION (471 años)

Hello friends, I hope you are well, on this occasion I have made a small painting of one of the most emblematic areas of my city. I live in Venezuela, and yesterday my city celebrated 471 years of its founding by the Spanish at the time of the conquest, Barquisimeto, as my city is called, is known as the musical capital of Venezuela due to the cultural level it has, I have made a painting of the Obelisk, the main monument of the city, I took the photo a few months ago but I used it for this occasion, I hope you like it.

Hola amigos, espero se encuentren muy bien, en esta oportunidad he realizado un pequeño cuadro de uno de las zonas màs emblemàticas de mi ciudad. Vivo en Venezuela, y mi ciudad ayer cumpliò 471 años de su fundaciòn por los españoles en la època de la conquista, Barquisimeto, como se llama mi ciudad es conocida como la capital musical de Venezuela por el nivel cultural que posee, yo he realizado un cuadro del Obelisco, el principal monumento de la ciudad, la foto la tomè hace algunos meses pero la utilicè ara esta ocasiòn, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

I was very excited, for the first time I used my tripod easel to paint, since before I did it on a desk, I used a 20 centimeter by 25 centimeter MDF wooden sheet and to paint I used acrylic paint. I drew the sketch with a pencil which seemed very easy to do.

Estuve muy emocionado, por primera vez utilicè mi trípode caballete para pintar, ya que antes lo hacìa en un escritorio, utilicè una laminà de madera MDF de 20 centìmetros por 25 centìmteros y para pintar utilicè pintura acrìlica. Dibuje el boceto con un làpiz el cual me pareciò muy sencillo de hacer.

I started painting the sky, coming from the background of the painting to the front, I used a mixture of blue and white which I applied over the entire surface with a flat brush. It took me little time to do it since I did it as a layer and then shade the sky with other tones.

Comencè pintando el cielo, vieniendo desde el fondo del cuadro hasta el frente, utilicè una mezcla de azul y blanco el cual fui poniendo por toda la superficie con un pincel plano. Me tomo poco tiempo hacerlo ya que lo hice como una capa para luego matizar el cielo con otros tonos.

Then I began to shape the first parts of twilight, another of the characteristics of my city. I started at the horizon where the sun sets and you can see the yellow mixed with orange and which makes the blue color turn purple, a true spectacle.

Luego comencè a darle forma a las primeras partes del crepùsculo, otra de las caracterìsticas de mi ciudad. Comencè por el horizonte donde el sol se oculta y se puede ver el amarillo mezclado con naranja y que hace que el color azul se torne pùrpura, un verdadero espectàculo-.

My favorite part was the sky, I think it is where I put the most effort into painting, and creativity was unleashed in my mind and I wanted to make many color combinations. But I tried to calm my impulses and relax to give those clouds a slightly more purple color where the contrast of the sunset could be better seen.

Mi parte favorita fue el cielo, creo que es donde màs esmero puse al moneto de pintar, y es que la creatividad se desatò en mi mente y querìa hacer muchas combinaciones de colores. Pero trate de calmar mis impulsos y relajarme para darle a esas nubes una coloraciòn un poco màs pùrpura donde se pudiera ver mejor el contraste del atardecer.

Then I painted the rest of the landscapes, some buildings in the background, as well as the highway, which is actually an elevated bridge since cars also circulate underneath. I made the small details like trees and light posts. In this way I was able to finish my painting.

Despuès pinte el resto del paisajes, algunos edificios en la parte del fondo, como tambièn la autopista, que en realidad es un puente elevado ya que por debajo ciruculan tambièn autos. Hice los pequeños detalles como àrboles y postes de luz. De esta manera pude finalizar mi cuadro.

This is my little tribute to the city, I really love this place, there are not only urban parts but it has many natural places that are a paradise, and although I have lived here all my life I still have places to see. I travel this path whenever I cycle as it is a beautiful place to travel and rest. I hope you liked it, I hope to share with you again, see you soon!

Asì quedò mi pequeño homenaje a la ciudad, realmente amo este lugar, no solo existen partes urbanas sino que tiene muchos lugares naturales que son un paraìso, y aunque toda mi vida he vivido aquì todavìa me quedan lugares por conocer. Este camino lo recorro siempre que practico ciclismo ya que es un lugar hermoso para recorrer y descansar. Espero que les haya gustado, espero compartir nuevamente con ustdes, hasta pronto!
