Keraton, A Palace I’ve Found By Chance Full Of Statues Everywhere We Look

Hello my dear friends…
The last time, me and my husband was looking for a place to enjoy a sunset. We were coming from another city 60km away and we only want to stay in a place while we were waiting for the sunset. We dont have any plan to stay or looking for a place to stay the night in there. There is another option which is to just simply go to the beach and stay there but since its in the weekend, there were so many people in there. We dont think we can enjoy the sunset. So, we were looking for a restaurant or hotel that facing right to the beach. In the end, we were intrigued by this place for some reason and this place is a hotel that allow non visitor to stay in their area as long as we order some food or drinks. Some of the reason we were interested is the name which is Keraton, Keraton means palace. Its usually used in Javanese kingdom and i believed that the name itself came from Javanese language. As we can see from this pic, this is the front area of the place. It looks fancy and quite majestic right?

The other reason we were interested with this place is because we saw this beautiful statue right in front of their garden. When we pass the road, this statue will surely catch our attention and make us look back at least once to know what is the name of the place that have this statue. We were like that and it was the first thing that makes us notice the name of this place which is Keration and also make us to turn back our car to go there. The statue is about a lady holding a bowl with four lion heads in the bottom holding her. I think that it used to be the ladies poured water from her bowl and it will fall down, but when we were there there is no water pouring down through the lion heads and the water down there in the pond is looking so green. It seems like its been so long since the last time they cleaned that up. I dont want to judge because i understand the pandemic time must be rough for a lot of place.

This is their indoor area. I think that by looking at this you can understand why i was so excited when i come inside right? To be honest i dont really understand the main idea or concept about this place. All the statue in this place looks like something we can find in ancient roman museum, i am not totally familiar with the Greek Gods statue but i believe that at least there is one cupid in there, right? Not only Greek themed statues, we can also find some statue that feels more “american”. I hope you all understand what i am trying to say since my knowledge is quite limited in this area. Other than the statue, we can see that their other ornaments such as their painting, mirror, table and chairs, wall decorations, they all have traditional indonesian vibe. Maybe mixed with dutch vibe as we were pretty tight back then but i believed that it was the mixed of both of them. It bring back a lot of memories because the decoration and table set looks like something we can find in our grandma’s house. It was so elegant.

This is their outdoor area where i’ve decided to sit and wait for the sunset. Their outdoor area located right in front of the beach, they have a private beach where we will not be bothered by other people while we were there. It was so peaceful. In the outdoor area, it was not so different compared to their indoor area. Its still full of statue here and there. There’s no area in this place that doesnt have statue. Similar like the indoor area, the statue in here were mostly something similar with ancient roman statue while they have some other variations. The variation of the statue such as the dolphin statue in the pool which i found so adorable and scary at the same time. I think that if i swim in there, i will not be happy looking at the dolphin statue looming over the pool like that. The other distinct statue is the broken statue right im front of the beach that has differenct color and texture than other statue. I think that it was more like India’s statue. The statue is about two people i assumed a man and woman without their head, there is also some part of the leg missing. Is it done intentionally? I dont know, but it was beautiful. Especially since the statue located right in front of the beach. Looking at the sunset between the statue are the experience i never expect to have before.

Since this is the outdoor area, we can also see that they have a lot of greens in here. There’s a lot of coconut tree here and there, it makes the beach feels more authentic with all the trees. Still it was a new look and experience for me to see the mixed between greeneries, beach, and statues everywhere all at one place together. I have never seen a place similar like this before in my life.

Keraton actually comes from Indonesian Javanese. whether the restaurant is in Indonesia. for a statue without a head and legs it is very scary. especially at night it can be very scary. perhaps telling of someone being beheaded.

Wow i didnt think about how the statue will looks like in the night time. It was kind of scary but beautiful. I think it was beheaded on purpose because all of the statue is in perfect condition
