The sun was really hot in Negros Occidental. We needed to cool down. So,we decided to go to a river with mangrove trees in Talisay City to escape the heat.We just decided to go like we always do when we want an adventure.

We didn't plan it much we just suddenly wanted to go together and enjoy the sun and water. We took a quick boat ride across the sea to get to the river.I don't know the exact name of it but it was like a river meeting the sea.It was full of life, changing with the ocean's tides.

Usually,we could just walk along the beach to get to the river. But a typhoon had broken the bridge that connects the beach to the village and it was underwater because of the high tide. So,we couldn't walk there like we normally would. The broken bridge showed us how strong the storm was.

We really liked this place. Every year during the San Juan festival the people who live nearby would turn it into a fun party.Everyone, families and friends would come to enjoy the cool water and soft sand.It was special because it wasn't full of shops or businesses just pure and natural beauty.

As our boat went down the river we all felt like excited kids again. The water was cool and looked fun so we started splashing each other and laughing. The boat rocking the salty water hitting our faces and feeling like we were floating away from land made us feel really happy.

It was a simple but great feeling. We got there quickly and saw tall mangrove trees. They looked like a green wall against the blue sky.Their roots were all tangled and went into the water making shade from the hot sun.The air smelled like wet dirt and salty water. It was a special smell that showed how the land and sea mix together there.

We got off the boat and our feet went into the soft, muddy ground. The thick leaves of the mangrove trees made a private, peaceful place where we could relax and enjoy nature away from everyone else.

We laid out our blankets and put our food in the boat.We had grilled fish, rice wrapped in leaves and lots of colorful fruits. We also hung a hammock between the mangrove tree branches.

The river was pretty deep because it was connected to the ocean so it wasn't safe for the little kids.To keep them safe and let them have fun we found a shallow spot inside the mangroves like a little pool where they could play in the water without getting scared.

The kids played happily in the mangroves like it was their own special playground. The grown ups looked around. We were amazed by the mangrove roots all twisted together like a natural maze.We saw lots of different animals little fish jumping on the mud, crabs running between the roots and birds sitting on the branches singing in the quiet.

It was a really beautiful place. The green trees, the shiny blue water and the orange sunset made it look amazing. It was perfect for taking pictures. We took lots of photos smiling and happy to be together in such a wonderful place. The big quiet mangrove trees were like a beautiful background for our family pictures. They looked old and strong like they had been there forever. Our photos felt special like we were capturing moments that would stay with us forever not just pictures.

When the sun started to go down and made the river look gold we all swam one last time. The water was nice and cool and felt soft on our skin.We floated on our backs, looking up at the sky and saw the clouds change into fun shapes. It was very quiet except for the soft sound of the water touching the land and sometimes a bird singing. It was a really peaceful moment like time stopped. Our day at the mangrove river was more than just a family outing but It was like stepping into a whole different world and we learned how everything in nature is connected.

The mangrove trees are really important. They keep the coast safe, clean the water and give homes to lots of animals. They show how strong nature can be.The trees showed us that even when things are hard nature can still survive and grow. The broken bridge damaged by a big storm looked weak next to the strong mangrove trees.Their roots held them tight to the ground and their branches reached up high.

Our trip made us realize how important it is to protect these mangrove forests.People don't always pay attention to them but they are really important for our planet. They help stop climate change keep the land from washing away and give us food and shelter.

As we got ready to go,we felt really thankful. We were happy we got to see how beautiful the mangroves are spend time in nature and make good memories with our family. We were thankful for simple things like sunshine, water and being together.

The boat ride back was peaceful and quiet. We were tired but happy and our hearts were full of the fun we had.The sunset made the sky orange and pink,a beautiful ending to our day.We knew we'd come back to this special place to this river filled with good memories. We'd come back to enjoy the quiet of the mangroves, swim in the cool water and enjoy the simple things in life.

I haven't tried spending time with mangrove trees yet but I know that it is indeed fun going there especially if you are with your family.
