Finding My Siargao in Negros: A Daydream at Marino del Norte

Life in busy Bacolod City was getting to me with all the work and traffic. So when Mom suggested a trip to her quiet hometown,Escalante City, I was happy for a break. I wanted to see my aunts and uncles and our family's mango trees. But the best part was finding a peaceful little place called Marino del Norte. It felt like a small version of Siargao, the famous surfing spot, and it was exactly the calm escape I needed.

The road trip from Bacolod to Escalante was a journey in itself. We drove from sugarcane fields to hills and saw the sea. We laughed and talked in the car. We reached Escalante, a calm and charming town. The air felt fresh. We met our aunts and uncles and looked at the mangoes. Then, we wanted to see more of Escalante.

We heard about a resort named Marino del Norte and people were saying it's like a smaller version of Siargao but in Negros Occidental. We were curious and wanted to see the beach, so we drove to Brgy. Alimango. The drive wasn't long and as we got closer to the resort we felt excited. The entrance looked simple but welcoming making us think the place inside was beautiful.

And then, we saw it. Marino del Norte unfolded before us like a postcard come to life. Imagine super soft sand next to really clear water that sparkled.Palm trees were waving in the breeze like they were talking to each other.You can also bring colorful hammocks and hang it perfect for relaxing. The air smelled like the ocean and it felt like a really calm place.

We got there as the water was going back out to sea. It wasn't deep enough to swim well yet but the beach was still really pretty. The water going down made cool designs in the sand and we could see little pools with tiny sea creatures in them which was neat to see.

We found a nice shady spot under a big tree and rented a simple table. It was perfect for our stuff. The resort also had rooms and cottages that looked really nice and fit in with nature. I want to look at their Instagram and Facebook later to maybe book a longer stay sometime.

That day at Marino del Norte was super peaceful. The sky was looked like a calm blue painting with thin clouds just like the quiet sea. A light wind whispered through the leaves that making us feel really relaxed. Even the slow way the water went out seemed to add to the quiet feeling like nature was breathing gently.

We spent hours simply being. We talked,laughed and shared stories, the usual hustle and bustle of our city lives fading into a distant memory. We took photos and capturing the stunning scenery and the joy of our shared experience. We dipped our feet in the cool, shallow water feeling the soft sand between our toes.It was the kind of effortless relaxation that recharges the soul that feeling of calm that stays with you even when you're not there anymore.

Marino del Norte is really nice and peaceful place. I saw a couple walking and laughing on the beach aside from that I also saw family happily building sandcastles and someone relaxing in a hammock.

It seemed like a great spot for everyone specifically ft couples, families, friends or even people who just want to be alone and relax.

As the sun started to go down and the sky turned pretty colors we knew we had to go. But we felt really relaxed and refreshed after being at Marino del Norte. It reminded us that the best getaways can be in surprising quiet spots close to home. This "Little Siargao" in Negros Occidental gave us more than just a nice beach also it gave us a whole day of peacefulness.

Marino del Norte in Escalante is a really nice and peaceful beach spot. Even when the water goes out the place still looks beautiful and makes you feel calm.It is a great place to relax whether you are with your partner, family, friends or even just by yourself.
