Dew Diamonds
dew diamonds
draped over
flower petals
shimmering in the morning sun
hidden in the shadows
found by few who dare
to mine in the cold crevasses
shimmering shining
dew diamonds in the morning sun
behold the beauty
gone by midday
held in place
by the morning cold
a crown placed on the head
of an unbeknownst flower
queen and king
the morning sun
the most dangerous enemy
time will tell
who will survive
dew diamonds
drops so volatile
you will be gone
by midday sun
dew diamonds coat my feet
the petals brush against me
with such soft touch
to give me her precious bounty
coat my skin
a thousand dew diamonds
now forever lost
to the midday sun
alas
a memory
a thin coat
a reminder
a breath in time
dew diamonds
every leaf
rich beyond measure
but only for a while
when the sun comes
to steal
a moment's treasure
no one's property
the queen and king
soon paupers on the ground
betwixt the lay
who knows not now
Postscriptum
This morning, I walked into the garden ready to water some of the new plants. Yesterday, I saw before I went to be the mist coming in from over the ocean. I did not make much of it. But the whole garden was coated in these fine dew droplets that shimmered like diamonds in the morning sun. The air smelled fresh, almost like there was rain, but there was only the strange mist that came from the ocean. But what a wonderful sight it created! It coated almost every inch of the garden in dew diamonds.
In any case, I hope you enjoyed this feast for the eye. Most of the dew droplets were already gone when I entered the garden. It is turning to winter and the early mornings are cold. One wants to stay late in the bed.
I hope you are well. Happy photographing!
The poems and musings are my own. The photographs were taken with my old trusty Nikon D300 and 300mm Zoom lens and also 50mm Nikkor lens.
Oh wow!
Dew drops are just some of the beautiful things nature has to offer! Out here on the farm when the temps are just right it can be amazing! Especially when a spiders web is cluttered with them. But as I said the temps need to be right... Too cold and everything is frozen 😂❄️ although that has its own beauty!
Loving the photos!

Thank you so much my friend! Indeed, the spiderweb one is the stuff of dreams! You only find them on rare occasions. You are lucky about the farm, I would have loved it. I am making the most of my garden. Enjoy! And stay safe.
Damn....
Fire. Total fire... I love it. I gotta share this!
You nailed it on both ends, both the photos and the poem are wonderful.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the visit and compliments. Stay safe!

Hi @fermentedphil
Such awesome beautiful photos you have shared and just love it all. Great job was done on the photography
Do you know, we have today's theme as greentuesday on LeoThreads and you can share anything like a picture, an idea, a thought, or anything that you like.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. Thank you also for the visit. Stay safe!
hope to see you active on Threads soon!
Sorry for the ignorance, I really need to find more time to do research, can you send a link or ELI5 of threads? I have seen many references to it.
Of course! Threads is the new version of LeoFinance that launches on the 1st. It puts micro blogging (like Twitter) on the front page, and you can share literally anything.
Oh thank you so much for the update! Will certainly check it out. I have seen a lot of people have been talking about it.
May I know What did you edit the photos with?
I do not edit them really. I use the software on the camera and I mainly amp up the saturation and darken/brighten them on freeware called "photoscape". The ways they are is how they are in nature as well!
