Mirage 150 - A small custom motorcycle
A low-displacement motorcycle, probably little known, was launched in Brazil in 2009, based on Chinese technology from Zongshen.
Note: I speak Portuguese, so I apologize if there are any errors in the translation.
Custom bikes here in Brazil are not very popular, but I've always wanted to have one. Being a low-displacement motorcycle, it was exactly what I needed for everyday use.
The Mirage came factory-equipped with electric start, disc brakes, and alloy wheels. Quite basic, to be honest.
If it's already difficult to find bikes in this style here, the few we come across are usually modified by their owners. My Mirage 150, for example, underwent quite a few modifications.
Unfortunately, I'm no longer with it today, but the photos brought that good nostalgia, so I decided to share.
I hope motorcycle enthusiasts can enjoy it, even though it's a fairly simple model.
This seat you can see in the pictures is not original. In fact the original was very uncomfortable and this one was made by a Brazilian craftsman.
Many of the parts used can be found in Honda or Yamaha motorcycles, launched in Brazil, and this facilitated maintenance. However, many mechanics avoided making repairs because they did not know the model well.
The Mirage 150 came with a carburetor and not an electronic injection system. I remember that mine had a problem when the engine warmed up it turned off and only turned on when it was cold. Then I realized it was the air intake through a carburetor hose.
Many people thought it was a 250cc engine, as it actually appeared to be a little bigger, but it was just appearance.
Overall, it suited me well for everyday use because it was lightweight, it was also nice to travel with, and I liked the different look.
As it is an older bike, I thought it best to sell and buy a newer model.
Without a doubt it was an experience that left good memories.
Over time, the very high handlebars started to bother my back a little. I tried to make some adjustments by placing it more inclined, but I was not completely satisfied. After some research on the internet I decided to buy a handlebar a little smaller and made the switch. It was a simple change, but it greatly improved my posture on trips and relieved my pain.

Definitely a necessary modification, especially if you have to drive for several kilometers, your back will thank you.
