Hello to all my dear friends, today I want to take you with me to one of the tourist areas on Qeshm Island.

Hello to all my dear friends, today I want to take you with me to one of the tourist areas on Qeshm Island.

According to the guides, this Portuguese castle has unfortunately been subjected to natural disasters such as storms and rains in recent years, which have destroyed the walls, ceiling, and parts of the carvings on its walls.

Today I will take you with me to see different parts of this orange castle. In some parts of this castle, they have also displayed various types of war cannons. They are all made of stone and come in different sizes, as well as stones with inscriptions from their elders engraved on them.

Entrance to the fortress

The entrance to the fortress is from under the tower into the inner walls, and this passage was designed to prevent soldiers from storming the fortress. In the middle of the guard room ceiling, there is a hole used to prevent soldiers from storming the fortress.

What is clear is that the Portuguese were never able to control the entire island of Qeshm, and only a year before leaving the Persian Gulf, they began building the Qeshm Castle, which is a military structure located in the northeastern part of Qeshm city, in the Masni neighborhood. It seems that there is another structure under the current structure, traces of its wall can be seen on the southern and northern sides, and they built the castle on it. The plan of the castle is in the form of a right-angled trapezoid and has four watchtowers.

The castle walls are made of coral stones, rubble stone, and mortar, and the total area of the area is close to two thousand square meters. In general, this castle has four watchtowers, a large water tank, a small water tank, an ammunition storage room, a guard's quarters, a cannon location, and a cannon repair shop.
