THE SHADOWS TO RECOVERY~~~Shadow Hunters/SMASh Contest -Round 244

avatar

It's no secret that my husband of 47 years had knee replacement surgery just a few weeks ago. This was carefully planned. His surgeon is located in New Jersey and does all of his joint replacements in a special unit at Morristown Memorial hospital.

As many of you know, it can be tough on a spouse, the worst of it is the wait. The wait to hear all went well, it's a done deal.

But thanks to #hive and the #shadowhunters community my time while waiting went rather quickly with very little stress. As I walked the hallways of the orthopedic unit the sun was brilliant, lighting up the corridors with beautiful shadows. I had to be discreet as I photographed these awesome geometric shapes that appeared as I strolled.

The warmth of the sunlight helped my mood as it streamed through the glass. I laughed at myself as I played the spy, careful not to capture anyone traveling in my direction.

I felt as if all the shadows were pointing me in the right direction, you could easily get lost in this huge place. In my mind I kept saying, all this warmth, sunshine and shadows are a good sign, no worries at all, I felt all would be right with our world.

I was calm and confident, we had planned for this, had chosen a great doctor and hospital and would soon be back on our #homestead.

I couldn't resist taking this last photo, it was from the parking garage as I slowly made my way to pick up my healthy hubby.

His boo-boo will heal, and I am ready to help him make a full recovery.

That's how it goes when you love someone that you have spent a lifetime with, it doesn't get any better than that.

Happy Shadow Hunting!

Good morning! It is true that those shadows and my camera were a wonderful distraction as I prayed for no hiccups during the long procedure.
I have to tell you @melinda010100, I am so impressed how #shadowhunters has grown over the years, marvelous job my friend, thank you.
See you in the shadows😁

hahahah, you crack me up. He just left for PT, and I am lining up his ice wraps and today's joint (replacement), he generally hurts like hell after the exercise and treatment, takes a day of TLC to get him back on track. But he's tough and suffers in silence (most of the time😄). He is really doing great, but he is getting a little bummed out that he is not further along, but he'll get there.

Thanks for the chuckle and thanks for being a true-blue friend. We both appreciate the support and not JUST upvotes😜, but for checking up on us.

HUGS!!

It's all your fault for being so dang sweet.

Without being too cliche, I feel his pain. Having undergone many-0 physical therapy sessions, I understand the process is never fast enough.

Patience is a MF'er.

Get well soon, Sweed.

Glad that Hive and Shadow hunting helped you through the waiting time :) The shadows you took are really cool and complemented the colors of the tiles on the hallways.

I wish your husband a quick recovery :)
