OH BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE***POB photocontest.

Good morning, good afternoon, good night all you crazy #hive dwellers from around the world. Here in the northeastern part of the good ole USA, we are closing in our winter. It's been rainy and grey for the better part of the fall here, but the temperatures have been steadily dropping below the freezing mark. Here we go!

IT'S SNOWTIME

Dig out the boots, hats, scarves, gloves, ski overalls and that cozy long down coat, you're gonna need 'em, 'cos baby it's cold outside.

Here on the #homestead, which sits in the mountains of Upstate New York, we have experienced our first snow fall, a measly one inch at best.

FINE WITH ME

I enjoy the snow for the first month or so of winter, it's a beautiful sight to see. As the snowflakes quietly drift to the ground, a peace comes over me. The cold fresh air along with the sense of purity hits me like a newly packed snowball.

During the winter months, we wake up to snow nearly everyday, at least a dusting from the lake effect snow that drift off the Finger lakes.

Feeding Our #featheredfriends

There are many birds that stick around for the deep dark winter, putting up with below zero temperatures at times, but this @farm-mom keeps them fed.

February is usually the coldest, with lots of snow that can pile up rather quickly. With the bitter cold temps and heavy snowfall our trees can get beaten up, flattened out or snapped off. That's when we know old man winter is here.

It's my first visit to this community, my hubby @thebigsweed told me about the contest so I figured I would give it a whirl.
