LOOKING FOR PEACE...Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 105

Greetings bird lovers and photo buffs. This week's challenge in the #smap contest is:

SMALL BIRDS

After a hectic few weeks, it's feeling good to write a little something about the little birds that visit us in the winter. The first thing I did when I returned home was throw out some bird seeds, I was hoping to just watch the small chickadees fly in and out, grabbing a fat sunflower seed, and that was exactly what happened, giving me a sense of peace that had evaded me for months now.

For anyone wondering, my youngest sister had suffered for months, was really sick with infections, and then passed away on Feb.2, 2023. A painful journey but she is now at rest.

Now it's my time to heal and nature is one of the greatest sources for me. I love the birds, the outdoors, the sunshine, and even the snow as long as we don't get pounded by a March blizzard, it's been known to happen. I'll tell you another thing that happens here, those silly tiny birds fly into their reflection and knock themselves out.

When I say out, I always think dead. But to my surprise, this one was able to fly away after some THC TLC from my hubby. It took some time for him to come to, he was out after crashing into our open glass door, we were loading wood from the porch to the house and had the reflective glass wide open, then boom, down he goes just inside the doorway. Now I was looking for peace, not more tragedy, so I cried for this beautiful bird.

When my hubby came to the rescue and picked him up in his big ole hands, I was so happy to see that small bird breathing and slowly shaking his head as if to say, what the heck did I do?

To this... what a joy to see him come out of the stupor.

That's all for now, very happy to be back with all my #featheredfriends lovers.

Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers through this difficult time.

Many Blessings to all!

Much Love,
Farm-mom.

What an amazing story of rescue. I think this cute little thing is going to come back to see you, to properly thank you.

I am so sorry about your loss. I wish for your heart to heal.

Hi there friend, thank you for your kind words. It may take some time, but the healing has begun. Seeing that little bird recover gave me a sense of hope, it was a goosebump feeling. My heart will heal, and my sweet sister will always be with me there in my heart.
Thank you, Carolyn, you have a beautiful heart.

A rescue story along with some great photography! Success!

I am looking forward to winter actually setting in a bit before spring brings us all the blooms and animals. Then it will be #gardenhive time!

Hey Zeke, with all that has happened in the last few months, the hubby and I will be doing some short trips here and there until spring breaks. This time of year, we are usually in Florida for a couple of months. But we will enjoy life here on the farm. We just tapped the sugar maple trees to make syrup so that's always fun and with the mild winter, we should get a boat load of sap.
Thanks for your support, I always enjoy your comments.
