Empty road Photo Quest competition

Yesterday I found this post by @qurator and decided to try my luck in this Photo Quest competition. #EmptyRoad subject is relatively easy for me. I have tons of pictures of the roads in my photo album, so why not give this a go? It will be my first entry to this kind of competition on Hive.

The most difficult part for me was to choose a picture which has the biggest chance of winning the competition. How to decide though? Of course I love many of my pictures and all of them have a story of their own.

After scrolling through my photo gallery for way too long, I’ve got a winner! Not even that it is more pretty than all the others, but it is one of the very recent ones and brings a memory of a lovely day spent in Polish mountains, that I described here.

Although I chose the picture above as my entry to the competition, I have some other empty road pictures to share too!

Picture number 2 is from the same trip as picture number 1. That’s when we were walking back up hill. That was the toughest part of our walk.

Next, there is a picture number 3 - a sunny spring day when I was enjoying my walk around the neighbourhood.

Picture number 4 is not really a road, but rather a cycle path in Netherlands. It was taken last year, when I was enjoying my walk around the canal, while visiting my friend in NL.

Then we have a scary road on picture number 5. My built in satnav has a tendency to lead me through the tiniest roads sometimes. If I know my way, I mainly ignore her. Some days I have no idea where I’m going though and at times like this, I tend to use my phone for directions. This time however my car sat-nav was showing much shorter route, so I let her lead me and this was the result. Another scary road that I wouldn’t want to find myself walking…

Picture number 6 is on yet another sunny day. This time I was on a lonely trip to London. I arrived at the destination a little too early for the salsa party, so I decided to chill outside with a cup of coffee and my phone camera:

Finally picture number 7. Road back home. I left my nan’s place early morning and the roads were surprisingly empty.

Love the 2nd one!!I have a thing for nature walks and with this view, I bet I won’t be bothered getting tired from walking.

I agree! I was with my parents, so we only had a short walk, but next time I might go for a few days and discover more paths :)

I like no. 5. There's mystery there and the movement makes it look like an action photo.

I like all of them, but specially 1-3-5. Most of the time I have a lot of photos that fits to subject, but have hard time chosing which one is the best.

All your photographs are beautiful, and I like your shadowy path, it must be beautiful during the day, with the sunlight and the reflection of the rays coming through the leaves and foliage. It is beautiful.

Haha 😂 Seriously, I was going slow, cause the road was horrible. In the middle of nowhere, full of holes and my suspension was suffering 🙈

The road in picture 5 is too scary and I don´t think I can walk through it at night. I would freeze. Lol
Then, I love the others, they look quiet and cool to walk through during the day while you enjoy the moment by yourself or your partner if you both walk together. Those are amazing photos.

Thank you Princess! Looks like most others like number 5 the most. I thought it was a bit too blurry to make it an entry into a contest ;) I walk a lot and always with my camera, so there are always pictures for every topic ;)
