Chichiriviche Parque Nacional Morrocoy Venezuela / Chichiriviche Morrocoy National Park Venezuela/ESP-ENG

Good afternoon, my dear friends at worldmappin. Today I want to describe the wonderful experience I had with my family and some friends at Morrocoy National Park in Chichiriviche, located in the northeastern part of Venezuela in Falcon State. It is truly a natural marine beauty that enchants visitors who have the opportunity to enjoy the park, which is immense. It takes several days to explore it, as we are talking about an area of more than 32,000 hectares, where there are a series of cays and islets, each one more beautiful than the last. with a perfect combination of white sand, in some cases golden, and the blue sea, making it a paradise.
It was a long adventure, since I live in the state of Mérida, in western Venezuela, but that's what life is all about: filling our moments with journeys and experiences to places where nature offers us beautiful landscapes, even if it means reaching infinity. Very early in the morning, we began our journey to Barinas, a small town in the plains of Venezuela, where my younger brother lives. It was a trip of approximately five hours, because the roads are not very good due to the flooding that occurred in June. Then we left Barinas with the whole family at 9:00 p.m. for the state of Falcon, a 9-hour trip to reach the small town of Chichiriviche, in the center of Falcon on the beachfront.
We began our adventure in Chiciriviche in Morrocoy National Park. We took our luggage to the Guacuco Inn, where we stayed. It was a very cozy place, run by its owners, who treated us with such warmth that we felt right at home. From there, we went to the boardwalk to catch the boat that would take us to the first cay, known as Cayo Muerto. It was really a very short trip, about 10 or 15 minutes.
The beauty of our beaches along the Caribbean Sea is indescribable. The impressive thing about these natural pools is that they are highly recommended for our little ones to enjoy, as the water is not very deep and there are not many waves, allowing us to relax and walk around without feeling completely submerged, so even those of us who cannot swim can enjoy the scenery in peace.
The most mysterious thing about Cayo Muerto is its name, because according to the indigenous people who lived there at the time of the conquest, they used this cay to perform human sacrifices, since it was far from the coast and they could perform rituals where other humans were offered up and slaughtered.
On the second day, we went to visit another cay, which is also very close, practically opposite Cayo Muerto, and is known as Cayo Sal. It is equally beautiful, and as its name suggests, its waters are more salty than those of Cayo Muerto, and there are even salt flats at one end of the cay, but its waters are clear and warm. It also has exquisite cuisine, especially for those of us who love seafood. Fried fish with plantain chips is a dish you can't miss, and you can also enjoy these dishes in restaurants or eateries near the beach.
Our curiosity to get to know Cayo Sal and its salt flats led us to take a short tour. We were able to see an area with mangroves, but access to this site was not permitted by the beach coast guard in order to preserve the flora and fauna. Here is a small snapshot of this paradise, since we were not allowed to get very close, but I can describe it as a landscape that captivated my eyes.
After a beautiful, warm day at the beach, at night we went for a walk along the boardwalk, listening to the waves crashing against the stone walls where the boat launch areas were located, watching the boats resting on the shore, and since we couldn't let those moments pass without photos, I took several pictures of my family to capture our visit to Chichiriviche in Morrocoy National Park.

After the photos, we went to a restaurant near the boardwalk to enjoy some soft drinks for the little ones and a few beers for the adults to celebrate this family reunion that could not go unnoticed.
The next day, we had to return to Barinas after noon, so we decided to enjoy the pool at the Guacuco Inn for a while. We were eager to see other keys. It was a very short vacation, but we lived it to the fullest.
