Postcard views of Veliky Ustyug
Postcard views in Veliky Ustyug are easy to shoot – everything here is conducive to creating beautiful pictures! The wide river, architecture and many temples are simply the pearl of the Russian North! And I've lived here for many years!
The sandbank on Sukhona has been forming for several years.
This island has already become a kind of feature of the city.
Until 2013, these sands were removed by dredger, but then they realized that it was useless.
Although I remember swimming on this island when I was a kid.
I've always liked the patterns and lines of the sandbanks, especially on the Northern Dvina.
And now it's available right in the city center.
The soft yellow light of the sun, the yellowness of the trees and the same shade of sand...The result is an interesting ochre overall tone of all the pictures.
If I had shot earlier like I do now, I would have gone broke on film.
It would take me one roll of 36 frames to photograph this shoal alone.
And I want to capture as many views and angles as possible.
It's good that photographic memory has become cheap now.
Thanks to more pictures, my mental memory has become more expensive.
I love gifts from nature and the weather – the shooting conditions were just great.
Ustyug was very pleasant during the day, unlike at night.
But there will be more!
