Northern lights over Sloboda

Now let's talk about the actual! This is the case when it is possible to deviate from the usual chronological sequence of publication of photographic materials.

On September 29-30, there was a prolonged G3+ class magnetic storm (Kp7.33). Where should I go to shoot the Northern Lights? All the places, which are not so many, are already tired. I would some recognizable objects or a reflection in the water.

And then I remembered Sloboda in the Sokolsky district, where there is a wooden church overlooking the river to the north.

When I arrived, I saw a static arc in the sky.

Then the fog came and covered everything, so I had to change my place and go closer to the churches themselves.

Well, there will be various views with a greenish sky.

There were bright flashes on the online camera facing north, but there was nothing interesting in the sky.

Then, in one of the frames, I noticed that the active phase of the aurora was beginning to develop.

And the fog had moved on... Anyway, I went back to the river.

It was very cold, the grass was frosted, and I had forgotten my hat and gloves at home.

But for my freezing expectations, nature rewarded me with enchanting light dances!

I also liked the fact that red glows started appearing after the active phase subsided.

These red auroras are usually found in the southern latitudes.

The red glow was so bright that I could see it with the naked eye even in the streetlights
