Dugouts in Sokol. Antsiferka-1
How long I've been going to Sokol – for a couple of years now I've been living with the idea that I should start studying it. And here is the first location on the Antsiferka river. Everything is as usual according to the established algorithm: studying satellite maps, street panoramas (if available) and departure.
The dugouts here stand in a field on the outskirts of the Trubki neighborhood.
Almost all of them are abandoned and a lot of them have disappeared.
In general, there was once a huge number of vegetable storages in Sokol...but 80% percent is simply lost.
This year the grass is very tall, taller than my height by a head or two. You have to literally fight your way through.
And photographing in such conditions is complicated by the fact that structures are not visible because of the grass.
It remains to rely on those cellars to which the grass has been mowed down.
Also that evening, my lens broke. At first, an error in the connection of the lens with the camera popped up after two or three frames, and then it refused to work at all.
I had to look for the last good moment, when it would work, to fix the aperture and at the same time slightly disconnect it from the contacts by turning it slightly in the bayonet. That's how I filmed the second half of the evening.
It's nice to see the cellars in operation: they harvested the harvest and immediately put it for storage.
There are three types of dugouts: square, triangular, and with a square base and a triangular roof in the form of a classic hut.
Closer to the road, the dugouts stand in a row.
At first I thought they were garages and did not go to them.
Then, when I went back, I looked again and realized that they were the ones!
Actually, I tried to leave here twice, but something brought me back.
Then I realized that. I missed another location.
To be continued...
