Retratos y recuerdos entre títeres y marionetas | Portraits and memories among puppets and marionettes [Esp-Eng]
En mis días de Universidad en el Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, en el área de arte plásticas, cursé todas las asignaturas del componente general, pedagógico y de la especialidad, entre ellas teníamos que cursar algunas optativas o electivas, y una de ellas fue en el “Taller de Títeres”, un espacio creativo, lleno de colores y personajes, acondicionado por un carismático, sabio y entretenido maestro llamado Elías Carrillo.
In my university days at the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas, in the area of plastic arts, I took all the subjects of the general, pedagogical and specialty component, among them we had to take some electives, and one of them was in the "Puppet Workshop ", a creative space, full of colors and characters, conditioned by a charismatic, wise and entertaining teacher named Elías Carrillo.
Él con su experiencia y don de gente buena, enseñó a muchas personas que hoy son famosos titiriteros tanto dentro como fuera de Venezuela, al igual instruyó a infinidad de docentes, quienes aprendiendo bajo su dirección, a crear y emplear el títere como un recurso de aprendizaje sin límites.
With his experience and gift of good people, he taught many people who today are famous puppeteers both inside and outside Venezuela, as well as instructed countless teachers, who learned under his direction, to create and use the puppet as a learning resource without limits.
Este preámbulo es para expresar lo que gratamente en estos días de vacaciones de septiembre 2023, experimenté junto a mi amada sobrina al visitar el Museo Jacobo Borges - ubicado en el Oeste de la ciudad de Caracas, Parque Oeste Alí Primera. Al entrar de inmediato mi rostro se llenó de alegría al pasar por la sala principal, donde pudimos apreciar la exposición Titeremuseando II, con una colección de Títeres y Marionetas del IPC (Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas).
This preamble is to express what I pleasantly experienced during these vacation days of September 2023, together with my beloved niece when I visited the Jacobo Borges Museum - located in the West of the city of Caracas, Alí Primera West Park. Upon entering immediately my face was filled with joy when passing through the main hall, where we could appreciate the exhibition Titeremuseando II, with a collection of Puppets and Marionettes of the IPC (Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas).
Entusiasmadas hicimos el recorrido, mientras yo disfrutaba y recordaba esos tiempos de vida universitaria, juntas íbamos tomando fotos y mi sobrina encantada preguntaba sobre la elaboración, peso, materiales de estos ejemplares. Realmente es todo un arte que requiere de muchos recursos: humano, creativo y material cuyo fin es dar vida a esos personajes, para entretener y comunicar lo que deseamos.
Enthusiastically we made the tour, while I enjoyed and remembered those times of university life, together we were taking pictures and my niece was delighted to ask about the elaboration, weight, materials of these specimens. It really is an art that requires many resources: human, creative and material, whose purpose is to give life to these characters, to entertain and communicate what we want.
En esta exposición se encuentra una gran variedad de títeres y marionetas, siendo para mí los más hermosos y de gran impacto, los títeres habitables, los cabezones, y los que se movilizan con varas, más las típicas marionetas que se mueven con hilos de nylon y listones de madera.
Los que más me gustaron fueron los de espantos y aparecidos, cuyo espacio habilitado para ellos fue en una zona especial del museo, un sótano con poca luz que da a la exposición ese toque fantasmal y a la vez jocosa con sus personajes alocados y espeluznantes.
The ones I liked the most were those of ghosts and apparitions, whose space was set up for them in a special area of the museum, a basement with little light that gives the exhibition that ghostly touch and at the same time jocular with its crazy and spooky characters.
También me encanto la serie de los cabezones indígenas, cada uno con una expresión muy particular que mi sobrina empezó a imitar, haciéndome reír de lo lindo, y de igual modo se hizo presente el innombrable contándome sus leyendas urbanas que no dejaron de sorprenderme.
I also loved the series of the indigenous big heads, each one with a very particular expression that my niece began to imitate, making me laugh out loud, and the unmentionable one was also present telling his urban legends that never ceased to amaze me.
Otra serie de marionetas súper pintorescas es la “Parranda de San Pedro”, manifestación popular y tradicional de canto, danza y pantomima del estado Miranda ¡Wuao que trabajo tan productivo y enriquecedor!
Another super colorful series of puppets is the "Parranda de San Pedro", a popular and traditional manifestation of song, dance and pantomime from the state of Miranda.
También hay otras obras que aprecié, y que se presentaron en el marco de la fiesta de las artes celebrada en el mes de julio y agosto en homenaje a Armando Reverón el maestro de la luz, en estas obras es posible observar el trabajo de muchos jóvenes que hacen camino en el ámbito de las artes visuales como: ilustración, modelado, grafitis, arte mural, arte textil, papiroflexia, entre otras.
There are also other works that I appreciated, which were presented during the festival of the arts held in July and August in honor of Armando Reverón, the master of light, in these works it is possible to observe the work of many young people who are making their way in the field of visual arts such as illustration, modeling, graffiti, mural art, textile art, origami, among others.
Realmente para mí fue un agradable recorrido entre recuerdos que me incentivo a retomar el arte visual y manual que tanto me gusta, del que me empodero en algunos momentos para plasmar lo que siento y soy, porque así es el arte... nos invita a expresar con libertad nuestro mundo interior.
Really for me it was a pleasant journey among memories that encouraged me to take up again the visual and manual art that I like so much, from which I empower myself at times to capture what I feel and I am, because that is how art... invites us to freely express our inner world.
These are nice puppets especially the ghosts. They made me to remember movies that puppets were used.
