Still Alive

IMG_1968.jpeg

Not a spring chicken anymore but I still got it. These are the first self portraits I’ve taken in over a year. Couldn’t be bothered to fuss with the big camera but quite liked this practise with my little polaroid. Glad I had stocked up on the film for when I felt the urge to pose.

It was 25°C today, which means a heatwave warning here in the north, and honestly it’s too hot! I could barely handle sunbathing today and even turned on the aircon for the first time this summer. People living in the tropics are free to laugh. Luckily I tan easily so I’ve gotten some pretty nice tanlines without having to bake in the sun all day every day. I know most people these days are very anti-sun but I don’t subscribe to that ideology. Not having sun is much more detrimental to both physical and mental health than having sun. If only I could bottle the sunshine to be used in the dead of winter.

At least my tiny tanlines usually last almost to the next summer.

Thank you fwend! I’m so darn lazy and out of practise these days that even when I have an idea I can’t be bothered to take proper photos, it’s so much work! One day I’ll do it…

Been a while since I saw you post! Every one should sunbathe, we need our vitamin D! I'm likely biased though, since I live in the sunniest european country. And yes, you still got it!🙂

A year to be exact 😅 I’m a little jealous of your sunny country, though I do like sub zero temperatures too 😁

That polaroid film is expensive AF. All those mini cameras are. I have a broken polaroid and two catridges of "PERIOD" film, and its expired. And the rollers in the polaroid camera are fucked, too. The only application it will be useful for are some outlandish, eerie portraits in abandoned buildings.

The longer I leave it, the worse the film will get, and the worse the images will be, but the better they will be. It's a logical progression.

But what isn't logical, is - are the photos on a table, or a floor? Timber panels can moonlight as each.

So fucking expensive, around 1€ per shot. Though these are for a modern polaroid camera and quite easy to find, can imagine it’s way worse for older polaroid cameras. Mine have never had the chance to expire, might need to try and ruin some just to get more interesting photos.

Or are the photos on a chair? That is the question.

According to ebay, I have the last two of the particular vintage polaroid catridge in Australia. When I last tried to use it, I loved the result. I'll see if I can find photos of the photos
