Visiting The Farm After A Long Time
Just for the two weeks break given to us after exams, 🤔, scratch that, we weren't given a two weeks break, we made the break ourselves because we were exhausted after the one-month exams and according to the school timetable, we were supposed to commence lecture that same week we finished our exams.
But the student all revolted against commencing lectures, so we all went to our various homes to stay at least rest and eat before we will resume walking the street of Uyo all because of lectures, I mean, going to school is fun but it has got its impediment.
And in one of those days of my resting, I found myself on the farm, an actual farm not a garden 🤦🏼♀️. I can not remember the last time I went to a farm but I do know that it's been yearssssss and a lot of years since I last went to one.
I decided to follow my friend to her mother's farm to help weed the farm since it is the season to weed and her mom who was supposed to be doing that with her was a little out of health, and just to encourage her because she wouldn't be able to go down to the farm to weed all alone.
I mean, we both know, I am not good with farms, even the air can attest to this 😂😂, but girl gat to do what I gat to do for a friend, it was stressful as hell, since it's something I long did, and even during the times I did them, I was still in my learning process, but I am glad I was able to help a friend when she needed it even if it is just a little.
If one of the qualities of a marriageable woman or a lady who we tag as wife material is that "she must know how to do farm work" then, I am surely going to remain a single lady till death do me pass because I do suck at farming and I can not help it.
It doesn't mean I can not go to the farm but I am one person that wouldn't mind choosing to sleep in my room without food than going out to the farm with food because I can not for the love of my lazy ass.
I never knew that my laziness for anything agriculture started back in my high school days when I decided to pick home nutrition class for agriculture class even though it was more tedious than agriculture class looking back now, I realized it was one of the reasons why I didn't pick the agricultural class.
The farm was quite big and yeah, although we both still couldn't finish weeding everything that day, and yeah, she planted a lot of Maize and Cassava plants, which I am hoping that when it is time for harvesting season, I am going to enjoy myself, especially with the maize because I love eating maize so much, especially with pear or coconut 🥥 combo.
So, if I happen to be a part of the harvesting season, I will update you all on the produce we got and what they were used for especially the cassava.
