Exploring the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, Arismendi Municipality, Margarita Island - Venezuela [ ESP/ING]

Saludos Queridos Amigos de @Architecture+Design 🤗 Es un placer saludarles nuevamente, en esta ocasión quiero continuar compartiendoles mis experiencias y les hablaré de mi más reciente visita a la Catedral Nuestra Señora de la Asunción ubicada en la Ciudad de la Asunción, Municipio Arismendi - Isla de Margarita.
Greetings Dear Friends of @Architecture+Design 🤗 It is a pleasure to greet you again, this time I want to continue sharing with you my experiences and I will tell you about my most recent visit to the Cathedral Nuestra Señora de la Asunción located in the City of La Asunción, Municipality Arismendi - Margarita Island.
Este es un edificio religioso de gran renombre entre los Margariteños debido a su antigüedad y hermosa arquitectura colonial. Según me cuentan mis padres anteriormente se conocía como parroquia de la Asunción ya que alberga a la Patrona de la Ciudad "La virgen de la Asunción" también considerada la Patrona de la Isla de Margarita.
This is a religious building of great renown among Margariteños due to its antiquity and beautiful colonial architecture. According to my parents, it was formerly known as the Parish of the Assumption because it houses the Patron Saint of the City “The Virgin of the Assumption”, also considered the Patron Saint of Margarita Island.
Está ubicada frente a la Plaza Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi en pleno centro histórico de la localidad y suele ser muy visitada tanto por los pobladores como por turistas. En cuanto a su arquitectura exterior llama la atención la entrada de la misma por su sencillo pero hermoso estilo colonial.
It is located in front of the Plaza Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi in the historic center of the town and is often visited by both locals and tourists. As for its exterior architecture, the entrance is striking for its simple but beautiful colonial style.
También podemos ver una imponente torre lateral en la parte izquierda de la Catedral que destaca por gran tamaño, un gran campanario y un reloj. Está catedral dado a su gran tamaño cuenta con tres entradas, una entrada principal y dos laterales.
We can also see an imposing side tower on the left side of the cathedral that stands out for its large size, a large bell tower and a clock. This cathedral due to its large size has three entrances, a main entrance and two side entrances.
Una vez dentro de la Catedral sorprende su belleza y la gran cantidad de imágenes religiosas que encontramos en su Interior. El día que asistí estaban en plena celebración eucarística así que aproveché la oportunidad para admirar muy bien el Interior de la iglesia mientras estaba sentada en la última fila de bancos.
Once inside the Cathedral, you will be surprised by its beauty and the great amount of religious images that you will find in its interior. The day I attended the Eucharistic celebration was in full swing so I took the opportunity to admire the interior of the church while sitting in the last row of pews.
Realmente es muy grande por dentro con capacidad para aproximadamente 200 personas, el techo es de madera y las paredes de ladrillos. Noté los grandes candelabros que iluminan la iglesia y quedé sorprendida con los arcos que posee en ambos lados. Una vez finalizado la misa comencé mi recorrido por el interior de la catedral para mostrarles más de cerca las imágenes religiosas.
It is really big inside with capacity for approximately 200 people, the roof is made of wood and the walls are made of bricks. I noticed the large chandeliers that illuminate the church and was amazed with the arches on both sides. Once the mass was over, I started my tour inside the cathedral to show them more closely the religious images.
Las imágenes religiosas son de gran tamaño y cada una de ellas se encuentra en un altar hermoso y de variados modelos. Fui admirándolos uno a uno hasta llegar al altar principal cuya hermosura te deja sin aliento, estuve admirándolo por unos minutos ya que según los pobladores este altar está bañado en oro.
The religious images are of great size and each one of them is in a beautiful altar and of varied models. I admired them one by one until I reached the main altar whose beauty takes your breath away, I was admiring it for a few minutes because according to the villagers this altar is bathed in gold.
Hay mucha historia detrás de esta gran catedral, que hoy en día es considerado un Monumento Histórico por ser un bello ejemplo de la arquitectura eclesiástica venezolana, sin duda está Catedral es toda una obra de arte que merece ser mostrada al mundo.
There is a lot of history behind this great cathedral, which today is considered a Historic Monument for being a beautiful example of Venezuelan ecclesiastical architecture, no doubt this Cathedral is a work of art that deserves to be shown to the world.
Pero mi visita no finalizó aquí ya que en la plaza Luisa Caseres de Arismendi también había mucho que explorar así que me fui a los alrededores de la iglesia. Pude observar una antigua campana que se encuentra protegida en plena Plaza y una estatua de la heroína Luisa Caseres de Arismendi, la cual le da nombre a la misma plaza.
But my visit did not end here because in the Luisa Caseres de Arismendi square there was also much to explore so I went to the surroundings of the church. I could see an old bell that is protected in the square and a statue of the heroine Luisa Caseres de Arismendi, which gives its name to the same square.
Fue una visita llena de historia y de arte, que personalmente me emociona haber realizado. Vivo en la Isla de Margarita, pero con frecuencia dejamos pasar por alto la hermosura de nuestros sitios históricos, estoy bajando el ritmo acelerado de mi vida para permitirme volver a visitar estos sitios cuya arquitectura colonial merece ser reconocido.
It was a visit full of history and art, which I am personally thrilled to have made. I live on Margarita Island, but we often overlook the beauty of our historic sites, I am slowing down the fast pace of my life to allow myself to revisit these sites whose colonial architecture deserves to be recognized.

Hi @eumelysm, the church has a beautiful design, I love the columns and chandeliers inside.
Plaza Luisa Caceres de Arismendi, looks great with its colonial style; colorful houses and decorative tiles on the roofs.
