Hace 65 años se crearon los dibujos animados por el Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC). En él han nacido populares personajes ficticios, para el cine y la televisión cubana. El más famoso de ellos se llama Elpidio Valdez, un muñequito que se caracteriza por avivar el sentimiento patriótico de la nación. Es un guerrero mambí que lucha contra los colonizadores españoles por la libertad de Cuba.
Para celebrar el surgimiento de todas las historias que han entretenido a los niños cubanos a lo largo de los años, llegó hasta Guanabacoa una Expedición Cultural que brindó una amena actividad, haciendo del sábado por la mañana un día diferente a lo habitual en el pueblo.
Las celebraciones por el comienzo del verano se han hecho sentir muy poco con respecto a otros años, y es comprensible, debido a las situaciones existentes en el país. Hay muchas personas que desean desconectar un poco de sus problemas, pero no tienen a dónde ir. Este tipo de actividades reavivan la alegría de la gente.
Los niños suelen ser felices con muy poco. Para los adultos, la felicidad implica una serie de cosas, pero el espíritu de querer ser feliz con lo que hay y ya, aún está presente en muchos y pueden disfrutar de este tipo de actividades sin tener su mente en otro lugar.
Los niños artistas cantaron, bailaron, rieron a carcajadas e interactuaron con el público presente. Los cuentos fueron los que menos llamaron la atención de los asistentes, quizás porque el cuentero hablaba muy rebuscadamente. A los adultos les encantaron los chistes del payaso e incluso le gritaban cosas como para meterse con él y que siguiera soltando más disparates. Al parecer, el payaso nunca antes había estado en Guanabacoa, al menos eso nos hizo entender.
Disfruté la parte en que los pequeños artistas comenzaron a bailar y cantar. Ellos fueron realmente divertidos y muy ocurrentes. En sus rostros no había timidez y en sus ojos no se podía ver la conciencia de los problemas que existen. Es lo más especial de los niños que aún conservan su inocencia, porque cuando los miras puedes encontrar paz.

65 years ago, cartoons were created by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC). Popular fictional characters for Cuban cinema and television have been born there. The most famous of them is called Elpidio Valdez, a little figure known for awakening the patriotic spirit of the nation. He is a mambí warrior who fights against the Spanish colonizers for Cuba’s freedom.
To celebrate the emergence of all the stories that have entertained Cuban children over the years, a Cultural Expedition arrived in Guanabacoa, offering a pleasant activity that made Saturday morning a day different from the usual in the town.
The celebrations for the beginning of summer have been felt very little compared to other years, which is understandable due to the current situations in the country. Many people want to disconnect a little from their problems but have nowhere to go. These kinds of activities revive the joy of the people.
Children are usually happy with very little. For adults, happiness involves many things, but the spirit of wanting to be happy with what is available is still present in many, and they can enjoy these kinds of activities without their minds elsewhere.
The young artists sang, danced, laughed heartily, and interacted with the present audience. The stories were the least captivating part for the attendees, perhaps because the storyteller spoke in a very elaborate manner. Adults loved the clown’s jokes and even shouted things to tease him and make him continue telling more nonsense. Apparently, the clown had never been to Guanabacoa before, or at least that's what we understood.
I enjoyed the part where the little artists began to dance and sing. They were really fun and very witty. There was no shyness on their faces, and in their eyes, you couldn’t see any awareness of the existing problems. This is the most special thing about children who still retain their innocence because when you look at them, you can find peace.

Siempre que los niños se diviertan todo está bien, hace mucho tiempo que no veo este tipo de actividades
