Hola a toda la comunidad. La semana pasada, un grupo compuesto por profesores de fotografía, dos fotógrafos de aves y un grupo de entusiastas, entre los que me incluyo, nos fuimos a la laguna de oxidación del Roble, en Guanabacoa (Cuba). En este lugar se pueden observar diversas aves, como el zarapico manchado juvenil, el zarapico patiamarillo chico, el zaramagullón chico, garzas, cachiporras, etc., por eso escogieron este lugar para ir a fotografiar. Aunque no tengo un objetivo apropiado para esta actividad, me interesa aprender porque nunca está de más saber y es muy relajante contemplar aves y documentar su vida; me ha gustado desde niña.

Entre los fotógrafos que estuvieron aquel día se encuentran el profesor de fotografía Enrique Bejerano, fotógrafo documentalista. El día estaba algo nublado, así que nos costó hacer fotos. Alrededor del mediodía salió algo de sol y ya habíamos terminado de hacer fotos. El sonido que más predominaba era el del zaramagullón chico, similar al que emiten los patos. Yo trataba de fotografiar algún zaramagullón o cachiporra porque, como suelen tener movimientos predecibles, fui a los lugares que sabía que se colocarían de un momento a otro para fotografiarlos más cerca, ya que no tengo un objetivo para mayor distancia. Sin embargo, las aves se asustan al más mínimo ruido; creo que sentían mi respiración y, al minuto, ya estaban lejos de mí, por lo que no pude fotografiar ninguna ave.

The day was a bit cloudy, so we had a hard time taking pictures. Around noon the sun came out and we had finished taking pictures. The most predominant sound was that of the little grebe, similar to the one emitted by ducks. I was trying to photograph the odd curlew or curlew-billed curlew because, as they tend to have predictable movements, I went to the places I knew they would be positioned at a moment's notice to photograph them closer, as I don't have a lens for longer distances. However, the birds spook at the slightest noise; I think they felt my breath and, within a minute, they were already far away from me, so I was unable to photograph any birds.
