Hola a todos, espero que se encuentren muy bien y que su semana esté yendo de maravilla. Hoy paso por aqui para contarles de otro espectacular sitio que tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar en Cartagena, Colombia. Se trata del Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas y es un lugar que si o si deben visitar si vienen a Cartagena. Primeramente les cuento que para el ingreso, deben pagar un ticket el cual cuesta 36 mil pesos colombianos para turista y 31 pesos colombianos para colombianos. Como yo soy turista, tuve que pagar el precio completo pero José no. Asi que si eres turista preparate con más o menos unos 9 USD.

Today I stop by to tell you about another spectacular site that we had the opportunity to visit in Cartagena, Colombia. It is the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas and it is a place that you must visit if you come to Cartagena. First I tell you that for the entrance, you must pay a ticket which costs 36 thousand Colombian pesos for tourists and 31 Colombian pesos for Colombians. As I am a tourist, I had to pay the full price but Jose did not. So if you are a tourist be prepared with about 9 USD.

Una recomendación super importante al momento de visitar este lugar es que lleven agua porque adentro es un poco más costosa y también si tienen gorras o sombreros no duden en llevarlo porque el sol que hace es impresionante y el calor ni se diga. También traten de ir lo más frescos posible en cuanto al outfit ya que de verdad estar allí es una cosa de locos jajaja pero es porque hace muchisimo calor. Mientras vas caminando, van cayendo las gotas de tu cuello, brazos, piernas y así y no pega nada de viento, solo sol.

A super important recommendation when visiting this place is to bring water because inside it is a little more expensive and also if you have hats or caps do not hesitate to bring it because the sun is awesome and the heat is not to mention. Also try to go as cool as possible in terms of outfit because really being there is a crazy thing hahaha but it is because it is very hot. While you are walking, the drops are falling from your neck, arms, legs and so on and there is no wind, only sun.

Dentro del castillo, venden souvenirs o artesanias. Puedes comprar muchas cosas lindas de recuerdo para regalar y a mi parecer el precio es accesible. Por ejemplo, nosotros compramos unas pulseritas negras para llevarnos de recuerdo las cuales costaron 8 mil pesos cada una que pueden ser unos 2 UDS más o menos. Y no se preocupen si no compraron agua afuera del castillo o se les terminó la que llevaron ya que adentro también venden.

Inside the castle, they sell souvenirs or handicrafts. You can buy many nice souvenirs to give as gifts and in my opinion the price is affordable. For example, we bought some little black bracelets to take as souvenirs which cost 8 thousand pesos each which is about 2 USD more or less. And don't worry if you didn't buy water outside the castle or you ran out of what you brought, they also sell water inside the castle.

Pude hacer unas fotos muy espectaculares pero sobre todo una foto del recorrido del castillo donde nos muestra un poco de su historia ya que su historia es bastante increible e impresionante. El Castillo de San Felipe fué construido por los españoles y se hizo con la finalidad de defender la ciudad de los ataques de los enemigos. Hoy en día es un sitio histórico de la ciudad donde muchos turistas lo visitan, pero se pueden imaginar como se defendieron con el?

También me dijeron que el Castillo está ubicado en el cerro de San Lázaro lo cual le permitia controlar el ingreso por mar y tierra de los enemigos. La verdad es un lugar muy bonito, las estructuras, túneles y cañones estan en muy buen estado como observan en las fotos. Esto me parece increible porque como la visita mucha gente, se obtiene dinero y asi lo mantienen en buenas condiciones porque de verdad que vale la pena ir allí

I was also told that the castle is located on the hill of San Lazaro which allowed it to control the entry of enemies by sea and land. The truth is that it is a very beautiful place, the structures, tunnels and cannons are in very good condition as you can see in the pictures. This seems incredible to me because as many people visit it, they get money and so they keep it in good condition because it is really worth going there.

Si me ven en una foto con una bandera, que es uno de los espacios donde recibes algo de brisa, esa es la bandera de Cartagena pero también nos enteramos que es la bandera de Barranquilla, otra ciudad de Colombia. Poco creativos no? jajaja. Esto me pareció muy curioso. Si me preguntan, en el recorrido podrias demorar una hora o quizas menos. Nosotros nos tardamos por las fotos, porque hicimos una parada en la tienda para comprar agua, souvenirs y así.

If you see me in a picture with a flag, which is one of the spaces where you get some breeze, that is the flag of Cartagena but we also found out that it is the flag of Barranquilla, another city in Colombia. Not very creative, huh? hahaha. I found this very curious. If you ask me, the tour could take an hour or maybe less. We took an hour for the pictures, because we made a stop at the store to buy water, souvenirs and so on.
