Absolutely lovely and amazing. And quite far away. Thanks for the story and photos and for a secret tip where to travel to.

Two questions:

  • is staying overnight at such places allowed in Sweden? because in some countries you can easily get harassed by local police
  • any mosquitos?

Thank you so much @ervin-lemark There are some beautiful places here in the nordics. The more north you go the less people and one is surrounded just by raw nature. Thats where I live now until next month.

Yes you can stay in places like this. Some even have facilities for campers. Like toilets, bins, sometimes even water and a shower.
In sweden you are not allowed to drive your camper van into a forest though. You can’t leave the asphalt and no overnight camping with a vehicle in the nature reserves. But other than that, there are enough places like this to sleep.
Where there are more facilities one can contribute with a voluntary payment. They are very low. Like 5 euros for a night. This helps cleaning and maintaining such places.
I will share some more of these kind of spots I slept at and one that even had a sauna and work out 🏋️ area with bbq spots too. Soon…

There is a rule one can roam and sleep everywhere but that is only for people on foot with rug sacks and tents. No vehicles.

Mosquitoes can be a problem but mainly in the summer. Outside of it, it is fine.
In the summer I stay to the coast to avoid just that if I am camping overnight. Any other season one can go inland, everywhere.
