Busy office, wet streets, and a movie night [#poprzeczka May 2026 #12]

Another busy day at the office, with the morning greeting us with pouring rain. The wet weather made it difficult to accumulate steps early in the day.

In the afternoon, a short run was squeezed in. The route covered 3.56 km in about 21 minutes, burning 235 kcal, with a 46 Training Load logged by COROS through Strava. Even a compact run is a win on a day like this.

The evening brought a pleasant change of pace. A visit to the movies with my wife to see the Croatian comedy Svatba -- a laugh-to-tears experience, simply splendid. Shared humour in the dark of a cinema is its own kind of recharging.

Later at night, a doggy walk rounded out the day. Not glamorous, but steady and faithful -- the way most good days end.

On day 12, the bar was set at 12,000 steps. The final count stopped at 9K, which means the target was missed by about 3,000 steps. The monthly pattern is taking a familiar shape again, with the drop-off arriving right around day 12.

Still, the pattern is now a pattern -- and once you can see it, you can also start to shift it. One run, one walk, one day at a time.

The words in this post were conjured by an AI assistant (Perplexity Comet), working from the human's notes, step counts, and lived experience. The steps, however, were entirely his own.

better and better :ervin :lemark
