Traveling To A Different World
As I mentioned in my previous post, I did not expect a travel back to a different era, let alone find such a high level talent on display in the amateur art gallery, so the surprise was huge.
The funny thing is, when I visit any exhibition, for me it is like an hour, or half an hour detach from the real world. It's a (usually) quiet half an hour with my thoughts, with my feelings and at the end, it's always the same, I mean I regret not having time to start creating art in one form or another.

If you've read my previous post three days ago, you know the paintings I saw at this exhibition were far from the amateur level, but when I stopped here, the upper left painting suggested that I may be wrong. Without doubt, I can tell you there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube, about how to create this exact same scene on canvas, but I don't want to be rude, so let's move on.

Some landscapes for landscape lovers.

I find this too kitschy for my taste to be honest.

Three abstracts from the same artist. The upper two seem a bit similar to me, or not much different, but the bottom one I like.

It's a big, colorful, abstract mess, but an artistic and pleasant mess.

And this is where it gets interesting. It's a mix of times, old with modern and although the lady with the red hat looks great, I would leave her out this time as I like the others better. In a different gallery, these paintings, positioned more appropriately and lighted accordingly would have looked amazingly, not to mention I'd have had a better chance of photographing them individually.
So as I said , the lady is out of the equation and out of the five, which one would you choose? For me, it's really difficult. Each portrait represent or symbolizes something else and I'd want them all. How much it would cost me? I don't even want to know.

Four paintings of two painters. When I am forced to evaluate lots, eliminating the ones I like less helps reduce distraction, so here I'd eliminate the landscape and the face on the upper left.

Being left with the other two, I'd go with the upper right abstract portrait.

An abstract and a winter landscape. I already have a winter landscape, similar to this one, so even though I like it, it'd not be my choice. The abstract looks interesting, but there was a reflection on the paint, so I can't really see the original color not. Maybe it's green, maybe it's black, or both?

Two paintings from the same artist. If you have been reading my posts, you'd know which is my favorite, but if you haven't, I'll tell you. The bottom one, which is a cityscape of Transylvania, a part of a medieval city and I love it. The technique, the colors, the frame, it's just perfect. I'd be happy to have it on my wall.
Now that I'm posting these photos, was thinking how differently you think once you have a lot of two, three, or four photos. Maybe it's easier this way as you eliminate one or two immediately, but you lose on quality as you don't have a close photo, but this is life. You can't have everything.

Look at it. How can you not like it?

Last, but not least. two still life, both lovely, from the same artist as the other two above. I like how the frames were chosen here, it reminds us of the times when these still life paintings were living their golden age. It's well chosen, the colors too. I know at least one person is going to like these two :)
Let me know what you think as we have a mix of everything here.

I liked the winter landscape with birch trees — maybe because I’m really hot right now 🙂
I bet back home is not hot now 😆❄️⛄️
I like the landscapes. Enjoy staring at landscapes imagining myself in them. Creating worlds around them in my head. Always have. Ever since I can remember.
Looks like we're the same in this regard. So many times I am thinking how good it would be to sit there, enjoy the quiet and nature, when I'm looking at the landscapes.
You tell me these are amateurs? Lol
Those are superb, it's really hard to pick a favorite, i mean besides the abstracts and the kitchy which aren't really my thing, almost all the others are great pieces
The portraits seem coming from a museum, they are excellent like old times, the big faces are also very nice to see and beautiful
I also like the winter landscape and the city which you like, but also the bottom flowers
And even if there's the tutorial for this one, it's still very nice to see
Nope, I don't think they are, and who says they are, is lying 😄
I've seen amateur works in this gallery and trust me, none of them looked like this.
I need to teach you to love abstract as those are good too, most of the times. And you're right, most of them look like coming from the museum.
You need to make a post abstract only, with the other concurrents on this post there's no match 😄
Hermoso
That's a great exhibition for an amateur thingy! You always remind me that I should pay more attention to these and make a habit into visitem them on this end too :)
I don't know if they were amateurs as some of them are masterpieces honestly.
You can start slowly, visit one exhibition per month, or two, you'll feel better as it's disconnecting, especially after so much screen time 😆
This post is even better than the last one!!! How beautiful! From the abstracts, I choose the same one as you, and from the portraits, the one at the top right because of the color contrast. From the faces... exactly! The two with closed eyes are my favorites of all. How beautiful the construction with that tower is, I loved the colors, and the still lifes are adorable and perfect!! A masterful post!
This was exceptional honestly and a huge surprise as I was expecting some amateur works, but these are not. I have another set, that I'm going to post in the upcoming period, but I'm glad you like them.
I don't just like them, I love them! Thank you for this!🤗
