The Beginning Of The Road

Today I'm back with more photos taken at the exhibition of the art school students, that I visited last month, I think. Yes, it was on June 23. If you have missed the first part of my journey, you can read about it here.

While I was looking at the paintings, was wondering how people are seeing these works. Are they taking into consideration that the artists are high school kids, under 18 or 19? Is that a mitigating factor, or they are judging them as they would any other artist?

As a layman, I don't judge anyone, I'm rather happy to see people have more talent than I have, which is not difficult, as I have none, so I'm really grateful to be able to see such young talents already having an exhibition.

Here I needed a second to figure out what I'm looking at, as due to the geometric pattern, the still life gets a bit confusing at first, but I loved it. What won me over were the colors. I love the orange shades combined with the green colors. It's really good.

Have a look at these four paintings and tell me they are not talented.

Of all four, this was my favorite, and maybe one of the favorites at the exhibition, for the brilliant idea the artist had, to place the church building, inside the church. During the years, I've seen plenty of paintings, one idea crazier than the other, but never something similar to what you see here. Really good.

A bit of doomsday feeling here due to the colors and light effects, but it's really good.

We have a different style here, a more mysterious one and I love this one too.

This was another interesting one that I liked. After three years in a row, I can see they have a given topic to work with and you can see that architecture paintings, still life and whatever they are painting, has to be done through a geometric lens, so to speak, but have not seen geometric nature paintings so far, which is why I appreciate this. The idea is very good and I like the colors too.

This was on the floor, so this was the best I could do, without laying on the ground while taking the photo, but you can see the wonderful geometrical still life. I know I said already I have a favorite, or two, but this is just as lovely as the previous favorites. I'd be honored to have this on my wall, but then again, who has so much space for art.

Musical instruments, maybe through a geometrical lens (I don't know the exact terms) is another mandatory theme it seems. This painting is a bit too colorful for my taste, or not exactly my colors, to be precise, but what I love here is that you have the saxophone (or whatever that musical instrument is called) surrounded by colorful piano keys, which was a great idea. It makes it a musical abstract I guess.

While I was looking at the paintings, trying to decide which one I'd love to have, which is a game honestly, was thinking that I could buy one or two each year, that good these were. I remember last year or two years ago there was one, I even remember the spot where it was displayed, that I wanted to buy, but again, it's a question of space and money. This year I'd want the geometric still life on the floor and/or the other still life, which is also on he floor.

Anyway, this is it for today. I hope you can find something you like. Let me know in a comment.

I don’t care how old the artists are; talent is something you’re born with, and I love seeing that. What a marvellous exhibition, and I’ll tell you… these paintings absolutely captivated m

But then I saw the two that have to do with music and I was blown away! Blown away!
