You're right about that, kids in the past had no right to choose, but times have changed. I don't see why force your kid to do what you want. So many lives had been destroyed this way.
I think these days only those follow their parents' footsteps who are talented (like in this case) or they don't know better. No offense.

I understand that last point, and that's how it is. Now things have changed a lot; freedom of choice is something important in life.
Only selfish parents are forcing their kids to do that they (parents) want and that's how you destroy your kid.
I've seen a lot of that... unhappy and frustrated children.
