More Protest
Today I'd like to share with you some amazing artworks I photographed last week at the exhibition called "Protest". It was a very interesting exhibition, with a lot of artwork and definitely not the usual type you see in exhibition halls.

The topic is not an usual one either and not easy to put it on canvas or paper, but this is just the layman speaking as artists have no limits and know better than me. You're going to see.
Puskai Sarolta - Fragments
At first glance, it's a confusing mess, I don't know if you understand anything about it, but as I mentioned in my previous post, each artwork came with a description, this way now we have a clue about what we're seeing, or at least we can check if we understand what the artist meant.
What you see here are pieces, fragments that show the damaging effect of wars.

Elena Sofia Bobei - Appendix
My artistic portfolio is a diary of events that have an impact on me, experiences that I transpose onto paper at a given moment. This work took shape after an unpleasant event in my life in which I was forced to discover this small and interesting organ called the appendix.
I hope this explains it. The organ itself is ugly and I don't know if there's a way to make it nice, whatever you do, but as a drawing, it is a masterpiece, at least that's how I see it.
Now you have to decide what protest means here. Is the organ protesting, that the artist had to have surgery? Or the artist is protesting by drawing the organ? Dunno which one it is ...

Puskai Sarolta - Dog Meat
The painting is a protest against dogs being sacrificed for their meat. The artist says in some countries this is totally normal, in other countries it is seen as outrageous, while in these countries sacrificing other species is considered normal. Yeah, we live in an upside world. But I could still not ear dog meat.
This exhibition room was like a totally different universe. Different artwork in style, size and color. So let's have a look, shall we?
Liviu Soptelea - The Memory Of The Gaze, The Mirrors Of The City
This is the type of artwork you need to study, in order to try to understand what the artist meant. I'm not a huge fan of this, so I'll let you tell me what you see here, or what you think you see :)

Liviu Soptelea - The Mirrors Of The City
Same artist, similar style, but I like this better. I love how the artist drew the mirror image of the bottles and people. Optics is a wonderful science, even though not many can appreciate it. Look at the city drawn on the top of the eyelid. Absolute masterpiece in my eyes. Love it, not to mention the orange, light bluish grey and black combination is a huge plus here.

Levente Fodor - Fuera Droga, Pro Test, Yes Or ... No
The series of images captures a silent protest against addictions - alcohol, drugs and excesses that enslave man. The photographs convey a cry for freedom, lucidity and dignity, bringing to the forefront the fight for a clean and conscious life.
If I were to choose a winner, this series would definitely take gold. I love it. The first photo, in which the guy he cycles past the liquor shelves is fantastic. There's a small asymmetry issue, but it's not a problem as capturing a moving biker and capturing everything in perfect line is a dream, does not happen in reality. It's a fantastic shot.
The second one, the black and white is also fantastic. I've never experienced it myself, but I suppose this is kind of what you see/feel when you're under the influence of different substances.
The last one leaves room for interpretation, but I suppose is connected to drug use. It's extraordinary in my eyes, I love it.
For those who don't know that it means:
"Fuera Droga" translates to "Out with Drugs" in English, often used as a slogan against drug use or trafficking. (Presearch AI)

Dávid István Nagy Havadi - Nature War, Brutalist War, Light War
It may be a bit difficult to see in details what these photos contain exactly. The problem was size here, these were all very long canvases and occupied the whole wall. There was no way to take a better shot, but basically on all of them you destruction and how nature takes back what belongs to her.
I hope you like this batch as interesting as I do and also have a favorite, or two, or three :) Let me know in a comment. I'm really curious what you see here, if you see anything at all :) I hope you do.

Hmm I like the messages those pieces want to deliver, they are honorable and I agree with them, however I wouldn't hang any at my wall😅
I also pick as best Fuera Droga, Pro Test, Yes Or ... No, the person riding near the alcohol is obviously temped to stop and buy, the boy with the head blurred on sides is the chaos in the mind, and last one represents crime, violence, gangs
Second pick The Mirrors Of The City, it's really well made, the eye expecially and colors are nice too
The Memory Of The Gaze, The Mirrors Of The City is cryptic, there a ship but with wings and a sort of eye on top
Yes, it is complicated to capture the idea of a protest in a painting, but these authors have achieved it, of course it is good to have the extra help in the description of each of them 😅 The most beautiful thing about art is that when it is exhibited in museums or exhibitions, all of us can give it the meaning we want with our impression of it, I have received several works here, especially the appendix, the bottle display case and that spectacular work of the man with the red hood, that shouts "protest" wherever you look at it! ❤️
