Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Easter!

Today it's the 6th of April, which should be a nice spring day. Yet, this morning we woke up to snowing. This weather is unusual in April, but not unexpected. The weather forecast notified us a few days ago, but even so, snow should not happen in April. In other years seedlings were already planted outside. This year we had cold and so much rain that lands are under water, so there was no way to plant the seedlings outside. Better that way as this snow would have killed them all for sure. I think we need another two weeks till we can start grdening.

I took this photo 3 days ago, on Monday. It was a bit cold, but still, spring continued its course as flowers were blossoming.

20230405_101832a.jpg

The day before yesterday was raining heavily. Yesterday the rain stopped, but the raindrops were still visible on the leaves, not to mention all those tiny petals of the cherry blossoms were on the ground. These flowers are so delicate, heavy rain and wind can destroy them.

20230406_115442a.jpg

Today, instead of photographing flowers, sunshine and blue sky, I took photos like this. These berries somehow resisted during winter. It's interesting that one was completely dry and black and the other next to it was still red and looked like in a good condition. Then snow came and both got covered by snow.

20230406_115504a.jpg

This is a controversial photo, if you think of the evolution of the plant. Old berries usually dry and fall off before winter. Then snow falls on the branches. When snow melts, buds and then green leaves start to grow. Here things happened a bit differently. One berry dried completely, blackened but did not fall. The other dried a bit, kept its color and did not fall either. Snow came, snow went, buds appeared and leaves grew. Then snow came again :) The bottom line is, normally you should not see this setup, if nature follows its normal course. But what is normal these days?

20230406_115513a.jpg

This is getting funny. Look at how many colors you see here. Black, dark claret, brown and red and these berries grew in the same time.

20230406_115518a.jpg

A nice green leaf covered by snow. I truly hope there will be no significant damage and these buds, leaves can survive this cold and the snow.

20230406_115546a.jpg

The light was terrible as you can imagine, there's no sunshine while it's snowing. Apart from the first one, the rest of the photos are not edited.

20230406_115538a.jpg

This is the golden shower, which is known and loved for its yellow flowers. In late march and early April, these bushes are all yellow, like gold. Leaves only grow after the flowers are gone. Yeah, I know, it's a bit backwards, but that makes it beautiful as the bushes are all yellow.

20230406_120228a.jpg

20230406_125203a.jpg

Here I was after several failed attempt, due to lack of light. When you have no solution or nothing to lose, you try everything. I thought let's try using the flash. This photo is not edited either and looks terrible.

20230406_125232a.jpg

This pink cherry blossom is the most beautiful flower of the season. After the heavy rain and snow, most likely it's done.

20230406_125141a.jpg

I guess my plans of taking nice cherry blossom photos will remain plans till next year. If you'd like to see those lovely cherry blossoms, you should look for users posting from Japan or China. Most likely the weather over there is not as crazy as here. Better luck next year, right? Never give up, never lose hope. There's always a next time. Till there isn't.

So what is the weather like where you live? If you're in Europe, do you have crazy weather like this?

Waw, I have always been fascinated by the softness of snow, I don't know when I can touch it, it seems that it will be so amazing, the softness is visible behind your amazing photographic works

Snow is soft if it's fresh, otherwise it can be icy. This was a bit wet and not exactly nice.

I can't imagine how cold it is

Imagine if the snow is icy, can cut like a knife. So if you fall, you can hurt your hands pretty badly.

It is too bad that there is snow in some places in April. Moreover, the weather was good before the snow and before it got cold. That's why the trees bloomed and now they are frozen. I hope we will not have a drought summer.

The weather is good in Turkey at the moment, but it looks like it will start raining again from Monday. Every day I hope for spring and then summer.

Unfortunately no season is as it was once, so we need to be prepared for everything. It's April and I'm still wearing my boots. I don't mind much but the agriculture has to suffer a lot, everything is delayed now and if autumn will be short and cold, then ...

So you're not an exception either. Rain is good if it's moderated and not too cold.

Nature is amazing))
But unfortunately, apparently, summer without fruit is waiting for us too.

Yes, it looks like it's been canceled at all.
However, there has not yet been a year without summer. And this is reassuring!

Definitely crazy weather here. I hope the snow is done here, suppose to be in the 80's next week. I haven't shaved my beard yet so snow may still be lurking, lol. It's coming off soon though.

Oh, I was hoping at least other countries, continents have a better weather, but I was wrong. Lol, so beard keeps you warm, huh?

Actually the beard does, like a built in scarf, lol. I shaved it off in December and felt the cold on my face when I was outside. It was extremely cold for some reason here at that time. We had temperatures that felt like - 40. It was a three day span and I'm thankful we didn't have any airlift schedules to work.

I can imagine what it is like working outside in those temperatures. I did it when I was a teenager, but no thanks 😄

Crazy weather photos can be just as good as sane weather photos...or so I'm led to believe. 😊

It's raining a little here now, 19-20C all weekend (four day weekend) but we'll see some blue skies too. Not so bad. A good weekend to celebrate the true meaning of Easter...chocolate.

Basically any weather is good for taking photos, you just have to adjust your focus and camera settings 😃

19-20C and rain is acceptable. Easter chocolate? Lol, I'm open to it.

I've got a chocolate post coming in hot for (my) Sunday. That's if I leave any chocolate to photograph!

The same happened here last 2 years. Apricot and cherry were expensive as it snowed when they bloomed. This year no snow)) we are so happy that at last there will be a lot of fruits)) So now it is clear where that snow gone😃

If the snow and frost comes when trees are blooming, then it's game over! What a shame. Lol, so you sent the snow here 😲 Not good, not good 😁

It is definitely not Sakura as I don't even know what Sakura is. And it's not white either, it's light pink but due to lack of light, this was the best I could do. It's cherry blossom.

Still you managed to capture some nice photos. I agree, the weather is completely crazy. Here in The Netherlands we hardly had winter, but mostly it felt like a long, cold, gray, windy and rainy autumn. And even now the temperatures are on the rise, we still have a lot of those dark depressing gray rainy days. I really am so ready for the sun to come and stay!

I don't know which is worse. Cold and sunny or warm and gray? I guess I would go with cold and sunny as I'm addicted to light :)

Fingers crossed, let's hope spring is just around the corner.

Wow.

Snow in April...

Poor flowers that with the cold will suffer and will not get to bear fruit as they should.

The cherry blossoms you posted look like the ones on my peach tree that I posted recently.

I had never noticed that the flowers of the peach variety I have and the cherry were so similar until I read your post.

Regards

Unfortunately ye, snow in April. We barely had snow this winter and now we get this.

Yes, the two look similar. The truth is, there are so many varieties.

Thanks for that lovely photo. I hope one day I'll be able to take one similar. If the weather permits.
