Cocktail At The Gallery

avatar

Some of you, who are following me and reading my posts know, I like do post art cocktails, in which I'm mixing all kinds of artworks, the greater the variety, the better as I think it's a nice way to enjoy something from each category.

Art Cocktail Tuesday.jpg

This week, as I mentioned, I visited three exhibitions, one of which was art already mixed, which not only makes my job easier, but it also gives me a chance to enjoy what I'm usually mixing for you, at the venue.

This was an exhibition of a group of artists from Transylvania, including painters, sculptures, photographers, textile and metal artists and so on.

First impression always counts and when I saw these beauties, knew right away it's going to be a nice journey to artland. Unfortunately I wasn't alone, so I had to change my routine and start in the second room as I don't like to bother others, standing next to them, as I don't like others to bother me either, by standing next to me and me being forced to listen to their assessment and opinion.

László Vince - Along The Nyárád

Nyárád is a Transylvanian river, which you won't see in this painting, but you can see the colorful woods. It's an unusual presentation of this part of nature, a very colorful, but I love it. The balance between these vivid colors is perfect in my eyes. Would look nice in my study, but without the glass though. I hate glass when it comes to paintings and photographs.

Ádám Baróthi - Flying In Pairs

Pretty expressive metal sculpture, but it's not exactly to my taste.

József Miholcsa - The Funeral of the Horseman

A nice wooden carving, with a mysterious meaning. I bet you can't figure out how this wooden piece is connected to a funeral. I have a clue, not sure it's accurate, but I think it symbolizes the "kopjafa", which is a traditional wooden headstone used in some part of Transylvania. It doesn't look like this, but since it's carved wood, this is the only thing I can think of.

Annamária Banta - The Echo of the Palace

This is where things started to get interesting for me. I love this type of collages and painted on it. This is a bit strange, I admit, but still out of the box art.

Ede Tordai - In Two

A wonderful monochrome photo of a scene you rarely see these days. The farmer with one of his best friend, working the land. Working the land these days is mostly done with machines, so once this generation passes, so will this type of work. But what is more important to understand here is the relationship between the owner and the animal. These are not pets, but trust me, some are respected and loved like a family member.

Rozália Kozma - Overwritten Character

I've seen this textile wall art before, it's definitely one of a kind.

Ádám Baróthi - Bull Calf

It's been ages since I last saw a carbon drawing like this. Even though this is about an animal, the way the artist chose to draw it, it's a bit of abstract I'd say, which makes it even more interesting.

Vince Bocskay - Villon

Villon is a famous figure and I love his work, but I think it's the first time, or maximum the second, when I see him mentioned or featured in art, live. There are several paintings, drawings about him, I don't know if he looked like this or not, but it doesn't' matter. I can just enjoy matter as the statue, or the bust looks great. It brings you back those times nicely.

This is it for today. Let's see if you have a favorite today. Let me know in a comment.

This piece is truly beautiful and fascinating. I’ve never seen anything quite like it, and what you’ve said about what it might represent makes it even more beautiful.

I absolutely love this piece; it gives me so many ideas!!!! So many!!

But another piece I loved is the latest sculpture; it’s executed perfectly.

I hate to disappoint you, but the second artwork you posted in your comment is not a sculpture. It's a painting made on a paper collage, which was put together using music sheets 🙂
But regardless, it's lovely.
