Art Cocktail
Most likely there's no such thing as art cocktail, but who cares. If there's no such thing, then I have just invented it and it means posting different artworks from different exhibitions, that have nothing to do with each other, neither in style, nor in any other way.
I'm going to start with Steve Bradford, an American painter who's art first confuses people, then at a closer look surprise takes over.
Rosette
Steve Bradford stands out of any artistic crowd with his unique painting style. His fine lines and sophisticated style give you the impression that you see a photo, but in fact what you see is a painting.
His subjects are various, but at the exhibition I visited in April, women's nudes made the majority. As far as I could see, his style suites nudes very well.
Albion
Not all, but most of the nudes were monochrome and the color ones were not colorful, like you would expect.
Fine Art Of Mezmerizing Chickens
When I first saw this painting, knew this would be one of my favorites. It has something unique, it's "out of the box" interpretation. Then I read the title and was shocked. Honestly I don't know why the artist chose this title, I can't seem to see how the title matches the painting. You tell me.
Next, let's see some textile art, which some of you know it's my favorite for many reasons.
Ecaterina Marghidan - Place To Bang Your Head, Shelf From Alexandria, Thought-Provoking
This one made me smile, even before I read the title. I love the textile rolls, how these are placed on the board, the color combination is also amazing. Then I saw the title, which is a bit confusing. First of all, this piece has two Romanian titles and one Hungarian and the three titles are all different, you can't say one is the translation of the other. If I were to pick the most appropriate title for it, I'd say "Place To Bang Your Head", because those textile rolls would protect you from getting hurt, but this is just what my mind tells me. Maybe you can see something else.
I decided to ignore the title and enjoy what I see. I love it, I'd be happy to have it on my wall, but it's not so difficult, so maybe I'll create my own version.
Eugenia Goras - Dowry
Dowry is not a word used in the western world. It's been a very important one centuries ago, but we have moved on since then. Not so much other, underdeveloped countries, where this word is still important in 2025 and most likely a few decades will be needed or even more, for things to change.
This is a woven piece, which means first you need a sketch, or a blueprint with the pattern.
Look at how precise you have to be when executing.
I can't really see the dowry in it, or maybe the piece itself (wall decor, doormat, or whatever it is) is the dowry. Regardless, I love the colors.
Mária Hunyadi - Family Tree
This is not the first "rope artwork" as I call this genre, but it is definitely an exceptional depiction of the concept, or word. It is a tree with very confused branches and most likely this is what a complicated family tree looks like. I love how the ends are left unfinished and have a different color.
József Szőke - Joseph And His Brothers
A roughly executed bronze (I think) group statue. If you have a closer look, basically only the heads and feet are done in details. I like it though.
Levente Horváth - Ladder
This is a very original idea. The painting is a minimalist one, as you only have the ladder painted on the wood (yes, it's not canvas) but the gradually lightening red color, that becomes orange and yellow at the top makes a perfect background and if this is not enough, the painting has no frame. Instead it is placed on a concave piece of wood. Love it!
This is it for today. This time I tried to select a great variety of artworks, all different in style and shape, make it a real cocktail for you.
I'm really curious which one is your favorite today, if you have one. You know the drill, let me know which one you like.

I see you have commented on my post and I grinned, because at the same time I have been reading through yours. :)
Now... let's see here.
Isn't it fun that we all get to be our own art critic? I mean, our eyes like what they like! Nobody else has to tell us.
I've never been much into nudes as art for myself. That artist obviously has great painting talent, now, if he'd just use it for something more colorful! LOL...yes, I'm saying that with humor, but my thought on the "chicken" name is if you stop looking at the woman and look at the shape and the belt, you will see it is nearly the same as a hen at the market, when the butcher has trussed up the legs and wings with twine so that it does not flop all unseemly when put out for sale. Put her on to boil.. or wrap her in some foil and give her a bake.
Of course the name does not always have a relation to what is depicted as some artist use that to try to make a person stop and think. My understanding is that lots of artist want people to stop at their work and think.
"Place to Bang Your Head"... my thoughts the same as yours. Before I read your ending, I thought, well, yes, I get that, if you are going to bang your head on the wall, it would be nice if it were padded first. ha ...and yes, I believe you could certainly make something that would give off the same vibe easy enough. I haven't made anything like this, but I made things out of some old clothes before, temporary art that is long gone now.
Dowry... the home or other things depicted within?... the talent of the creator of the piece that would be a benefit to homemaking or an avenue for an additional income? I can see how that can fit... name ... to what you see....
There should have been at least one rope limb that was a very different color from the rest. LOL... "should"..... I know, there are no "shoulds" in art, but just saying.
Joseph and his brothers, right before they threw him in the well. :)
Ladder, I have seen ladders in several pieces of fairly recent art and I like them, like windows and doors, I wonder where they go too. I have had ladders floating in my head with the intent of including one or some in some future art. I just haven't gotten to it yet. I suppose, for the fact that I like color and fun and whimsy, this last piece would be my choice of these. Although much more simplistic and not requiring near the talent of most of them, I think with the ladder painted on wood and "framed", loosely speaking, with wood, it totally makes sense to display the painted part like that. Now you just have to decide, is the ladder laying down and you are looking down on it or is it up over head and you are looking up at it?
I bet Joseph would have liked to have had that ladder when he was down the well.
I enjoyed your art cocktail. Hold the olive please. :)
Wow, no one has ever written such a nice and detailed opinion/analysis on any of my art posts, so thank you! It is valuable, coming from an artist.
I love reading what others think about the artworks, or how they see them as we all have a different opinion and see things differently.
I've never thought at this, but it makes a lot of sense. it's like clickbait titles or news on the internet.
The truth is, I don't go to openings, because of the crowd (you need to wait for minutes to get a spot in front of the artworks) and also it takes away the fun of guessing. You listen to the artist, who tells you what was the idea behind the artwork, then you can't form your opinion. I'd love to speak to the artists after I visited the exhibition, but that's not how it works 😄
I wondered after I posted that if it was ok or if it made you faint because it was so long. LOL.....
I have been to a few openings, but mostly because I knew the featured artist and I was just being supportive. It was always WAY too crowded for me. The artists didn't really explain their individual works unless someone asked directly. I always thought people came more for the free wine and socializing. Nothing wrong with that of course, but I wasn't sure how many were spending time with the individual art or trying to figure it out.
Waiting like you do, gives you time to do what a lot of artists hope people do, look long enough to ponder on it a while instead of just glance and walk on by.
After more than seven years on Hive, nothing shocks me anymore 😆
Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you, especially with this art gallery you're sharing. Artistic photos of bodies and nudes have always impressed me; they capture textures and shapes that enhance beauty, but the girl in these images, the angle, and the poses are truly original. I don't think I've seen many works like this, and they are worthy of admiration.
I loved the fabric art even more. It's beautiful, and the spiral shapes in different shades of red, textures, and relief are a pleasure for the viewer. Thank you for sharing. It's nice to come to Hive and find inspiring work. You know how to highlight the virtues of others, how lovely! 😍
Hi there and pleasure to meet you too!
I'm glad you liked these artworks. There are many more to come, so stay tuned.
Thanks for the comment and have a nice evening :)
The first pieces really look like photographs, and I recently went to an exhibition where there were pieces like this but done with a pen... incredible, I'll bring it here. They are all excellent pieces, although that last one, about the chickens, refers to the bonds that poor animals suffer when they die? Perhaps.
The second textile work is beautiful, and I think the tree is one of my favourites. It's hard to choose! All beautiful works.
I'm looking forward to seeing your post about those made wit a pen and please tag me as I'm all over the place lately, missing out on a lot. Hope to get back to my routine soon.
I'm glad you liked these artworks. More is coming :)
It was a huge painting in a very diverse exhibition of artists, and there is also one that may have been made with blood... I was completely surprised. Of course, when I post it, I'll tag you. It will be my pleasure!
Thank you @avdesing and have a nice Sunday 🤗
Likewise, have a wonderful day too!🤗
Steve Bradford pieces totally fooled me, until i have read your text i tought it was a photo, no way i would say it's a painting! the first looked a mixed photo to me
Albion is very well made but if i have to pick my favorite, i'd say Fine Art Of Mezmerizing Chickens, even if the title doesnt make any sense with the paint to me beiside the feets who look on purpose like chicken feets imho
Family Tree, rope artwork is an interesting concept, i've never seen it before
You're not the only one being fooled :P I was too, had to look at them from very close and find clues about what they are, then asked the gallery lady.
That nude art seems so real like a photograph,my fav is the textile rolls as it brings a colorful vibe❤️Thanks for sharing your experience,I enjoyed it❤️
Everyone thinks these are photographs, that's why I have to specify each time :)
Thank you @jlinaresp!
Wooooow, that is so great
I really liked all the photographs, all the art is incredible.
Can everyone tell that those one picture are like a cinnamon roll? A little bit curious about that. I wonder whats the feeling seeing it on person.
