A Wonderful Exhibition Of A Talented Artist

They say all good things must come to an end and the saying is true. One of my favorite galleries is closing in two weeks, for a whole month. It's their summer vacation time, which is much deserved, but it will also leave me without my half an hour of art. For me, these exhibitions are like teleporting myself to a very different world. So today I visited two of them and can tell you, the experience I had part of is unmatched. It's true, I say this every single time, but this is art, what can you do? Sky is the limit and these talented artists always show you they are capable of everything.

One of the exhibitions I visited today was a solo exhibition of Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, an amazingly talented painter, who I can honestly say, made my day today. Come with me to show you something you haven't seen before.

20240628_110801a.jpg

This was the first painting on the wall and had No. 1 on it. None of the paintings had a title, just a number, so it's up to us to interpret what we see, the way we see it. When I saw this, knew right away I'm going to see something special and was right. I love this kind of art and you'll see why.

Look at this lady, partly covered in mystery. I love how the artist chose to make her fashionable.

20240628_110827a.jpg

This scene is something you don't see every day. A normal, every day scene, that you see often. Two people running on the street, holding hands.

20240628_110837a.jpg

Yes, you're right, it's (almost) the same scene, from behind. I've been to countless exhibitions so far, have seen quite a lot, but never have I ever seen such a painting. It's brilliant in my eyes. I love that the scene is a simple one, from our everyday life.

20240628_110846a.jpg

And this is the two paintings, side by side, as they should be. These paintings were almost all for sale and these two are sold together, which is the right thing to do. I forgot to mention, these paintings were not small at all. So whoever is buying this combo, needs some space for sure, more than just part of a wall in a flat.

20240628_110909a.jpg

This was the first portrait I saw and there were two things I noticed immediately. One was the facial expression of the old lady. The other was the eyes, which tell a lot. Look at how bright those eyes are. There were a lot of portraits at the exhibition and now that I'm looking at this one. I think this style was maybe an exception and you'll see why, shortly.

20240628_110933a.jpg

This was the second portrait, a very lovely and very different one.

20240628_110955a.jpg

Now you have three portraits and I hope you can see what I meant earlier. The last two are very different in style, from the first one and this is the style you're going to see more, from here. The artist preferred to cover part of the face , or make it blurry. But the eyes are always attracting attention. To be honest, I've never seen any artist do this as often as Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, but it's not a bad thing, on the contrary. And I love it. Here the eyes are not so prominent, the lips with the red lipstick are. I love this.

20240628_111017a.jpg

Another portrait, with half of the face covered in the dark, but again, a very different one. At he exhibition I didn't notice, I thought half of the face is just in the shadow, but now looking at it, it seems like double exposure in photography. That shadow looks like the nose and the lips of the guy. Is it really? Or I'm just imagining it? God only knows I suppose. I like how that light blue goes so well with the guy's dark skin.

20240628_111038a.jpg

While thinking of what to write about this portrait, was wondering how many portrait styles this artist has. This is yet another style, different from what you saw till now. It almost looks like a photo in my eyes. However, it can't beat the previous ones. I think I like a little bit of mystery, now that I've seen what the artist is capable of, when it comes to portraits.

After seeing all the paintings, I picked up the price list and looked at how much these paintings cost. I'd be glad to own one, but space an funds allocated to art are lacking now.

Now please let me know which one is your favorite. I always love your feedback.

What a beautiful art
(don't think so much about the first one)
(don't think so much about the first one)

(don't think so much about the first one)
(don't think so much about the first one and his pecs).
Sorry I can't appreciate the art 🚶.
He leaves with what little decency he has left.

Wow, those are artistic works which denote the artist's immense talent @erikah friend... I was absorbed looking at the first portrait, that of the elderly lady, it seems to "emerge" from the canvas and has a type of overwhelming eloquence and lights... As usual, great work report cominf from you!... Thanks for sharing and have a great Sunday dear friend...

Yes, the old lady's portrait has a lot to tell, her eyes too. The artist is really talented, we can agree on that for sure.

Thank you for the nice comment my friend and enjoy your Sunday.

I love the confident, content, knowing gaze of the old lady. Thats my favorite. The first is a bit disturbing. Is her identity taken away by a stroke of the brush hiding her eyes? or is she blindfolded? I feel she is hidden from us even as she reveals her body. But why? it feels almost like she is being exploited. I think thats why it bothers me.

It's interesting what you write about the first one. I don't know why the artist decided to hide the eyes, maybe to raise the level of mystery, but I don't think he meant the lady is exploited.

Really nice pirces of art. I like the one of the older lady the most. Like you her eyes seem to tell a story, or more accurately, lots of stories both of good and bad experiences.

The artist focused a lot on the eyes and you're going to see that in my upcoming posts.

what a great struggle. I think you spent a lot of time on it. It is looking very interesting. The second and third painting is a very deep story.

When something becomes a habit and they take it out of you it is complicated hahaha plus I see that it is the little time you have to do something to clear your mind plus it serves as material to bring here although not having it also helps to appreciate it.
These portraits transport me to some kind of dream, I don't know, for me they transmit that.
