A Fair For Every Budget And Taste

What I like about most of the events is that it's never just an event, there's a fair going on during the fair as well. What is even better is that for a umber of years, the municipality is not allowing garbage, cheap Chinese kitsch and what you get is limited series, artisan products.

I love browsing through the offer as you see things you had no idea exist. The only bad thing about this is that you buy something(s), even if you don't intend to, because you can't resist. I've been training myself to resist temptation and can proudly tell you, I can! 😜

There were tents set up for every seller and there was plenty of space for visitors to walk up and down, even with a wheelchair or a pram.

The gardening tent is always a delight, because those who love plants and flowers, can always find one that is calling their name. I was interested mostly of succulents because my cousin needs to cover the roof with something that resists winter and drought as well, but 250 square meter at these prices would cost as much as two rooms, so I bought nothing here. (I bought nothing at all, but don't tell anyone 😆)

Look at the offer. I can tell you, it was really hard to resist, but I was really brave 😎.

The offer was really overwhelming.

These decorations were new to me as I've never seen them before and I'm a regular at these fairs. I loved the design, it was really nice.

Look at the frames on the right. Those are for kids' room and I love them. Simple, but very nice for children, better than some cartoon prints. Then the plates and the jewelry, all these were calling my name.

Here you could buy some quality clothes and fabrics. What I love about these is that there's nothing syntactic here, most if not all are done with organic dye, and it's healthy fabric.

Felting will always be my dream and I'm going to try it our once the bull market is over. Have been planning this for ages and every fair, where they sell felted (dunno if this is the right form of the word) products reminds me of my plan. This blue is not my color, but the vest is nice and the purse as well.

Would you prefer your kids to play with toxic plastic toys or something organic like this? Look at how cute that forest scene looks like. The slippers looked really good and I bet are warm too as felt is made of wool.

Traditional folk costumes always shave a place at every fair and I'm happy to look at them.

This table worked as a magnet on me. Looks at those trays, plates and clocks.

The design is typical Hungarian, this type of embroidery you find on Hungarian folk costumes, in Hungary, not in Transylvania though. I have a clock like this and it looks lovely in my kitchen.

look at those chairs and the wooden toys. Those toys are not cheap as wood has a price but they are 10 times more resistant then the plastic ones. I always stop in front of these and wish we would have such toys when we were kids. You only buy them once and all your kids can enjoy them. Some of them don't even have paint, it's just natural wood, so toxicity is not an issue here.

This shelf is of utmost important and I'll tell you why. Not speaking Hungarian would make you look at these fabrics and wondering why they are so special, so I'll tell you. What you see here are textile lunch bags, textile napkins, textile cutlery bags and so on. You can save a lot of money by using these and also reduce the use of plastic. This is the future for sure. I've been planning to make my own as I know how to use the sewing machine. One day maybe.

Artisan brandy, not my cup of brandy as I don't drink, but if you need a nice gift for someone, then this can save you from looking for one.

Gingerbread, this lovely sweet is the queen of the fairs for me. Back in the day when this type of souvenir (back then the work souvenir was unknown by the way) was what parents took home for their kids from the fair. Back then the hearts had a little mirror in the middle as well, but that was 100 years ago, or so. Now you can find all kinds of forms and shapes, with all kinds of designs and messages.

These were so cute, almost bought one for 3 euro, but then again, it would have been interesting for a few days.

If I were to choose one word to describe these items, that would be exquisite. Thermoses, cups, plates, all items with lovely designs. There's one problem there, they are not cheap at all. But again, if you need a nice gift, there you have several.

These artisans are trying to keep tradition alive and turn back to items and techniques long forgotten. Some of the fairs offer workshops, so you can learn how to create these items, which can take you one step closer to tradition.
