Caminata de 8 Km, oxigenando las ideas / 8 km walk, oxygenating ideas (Esp/Eng)

Hace mucho que no salía a caminar al centro de la ciudad. Una de las cosas que me gusta hacer es, al encontrar cualquier tipo de hidrante o toma de agua para bomberos es: Tomarle foto. Si, puede ser una extraña fijación, a quienes me conocen les explico, tal vez en mi otra vida fui bombero.
El hecho de esta fijación por ellos es, ver de dónde provienen, muchos de EEUU, tienen mucha antigüedad, dudo que funcionen, dudo que tengan agua. Muchos de ellos están en espacios donde los decoran bonito, otros muy descuidados, tambien los hay de todas formas y colores, el permanecer por tantos años en un lugar, pienso que narran historias.
Hoy te presento mis hallazgos...

It's been a long time since I went for a walk in the city centre. One of the things I like to do is, whenever I find any kind of fire hydrant or fire hose connection, I take a photo of it. Yes, it may be a strange obsession, but to those who know me, I explain that perhaps in my other life I was a firefighter.
The reason for this fixation is to see where they come from. Many are from the United States and are very old. I doubt they work or have water. Many of them are in places where they are nicely decorated, others are very neglected, and there are also ones of all shapes and colours. Having remained in one place for so many years, I think they tell stories.
Today I present my findings...

Las fotos fueron capturadas durante mi recorrido caminando por la ciudad. No tienen orden estricto, no hay un lugar de referencia que pueda decir respecto a las calles que caminé, puesto que son muy random algunas y desconozco.
Si estos "artefactos hablaran" de todo lo que han presenciado, hechos, sucesos, historias, creo que podrían contar mucho. Lamentablemente no tienen la fecha incrustada de su fabricación o instalación, pero allí están, se niegan a desaparecer y la gente aun cuando su funcionamiento es dudoso lo han respetado.
Muchos de estas tomas de agua se encuentran en edificios y urbanizaciones.

The photos were taken during my walk through the city. They are not in any particular order, and I cannot say anything about the streets I walked down, as some of them are very random and I am unfamiliar with them.
If these "artefacts could talk" about everything they have witnessed, events, happenings, stories, I think they could tell us a lot. Unfortunately, they do not have the date of manufacture or installation embedded in them, but there they are, refusing to disappear, and even though their functionality is doubtful, people have respected them.
Many of these water intakes are found in buildings and housing developments.

Ambos hidrantes están en distintos lugares, si notan son diferentes. Pero se encuentran en la misma calle, solo pertenecen a distintas residencias, esto es un lugar de clase media alta, diría que más alta, el ambiente y el lujo es muy diferente del centro... El centro que tan solo está a casi diez calles atrás...
El clima también es otro, es más fresco y el tránsito menos caótico.
Estas tomas de agua están en español y no dicen la marca del fabricante.

Both hydrants are in different places; if you notice, they are different. But they are on the same street, they just belong to different residences. This is an upper-middle-class neighbourhood, I would say upper-class, the atmosphere and luxury are very different from the city centre... The city centre is only about ten blocks away...
The climate is also different, it is cooler and the traffic is less chaotic.
These water hydrants are in Spanish and do not indicate the manufacturer's brand.

Este fue mi favorito a pesar de lo descuidada de la pared, que, aunque donde está está algo deteriorado al rededor, el color y el brillo que tiene esta toma de agua es impresionante.
Por cierto la gente me ve tomando foto a estas cosas y se me quedan viendo, yo finjo que soy algún inspector del estado porque soy consciente que es muy extraño...
Pero si lo ves desde el punto de vista que lo veo yo, terminarás respetándolo y admirando, porque es parte de nuestra historia.

This was my favourite despite the neglected wall, which, although somewhat deteriorated around it, the colour and brightness of this water outlet is impressive.
By the way, people see me taking pictures of these things and stare at me, so I pretend I'm some kind of government inspector because I realise it's very strange...
But if you see it from my point of view, you'll end up respecting and admiring it, because it's part of our history.

Los hidrantes son muy útiles para casos de contingencia. Aunque no se si estén funcionales o sea solo un recuerdo que ahora son decoración.
