street art and the street

we were in downtown Mumbai waiting for a morning bus when i noticed this scene across the street. now the street art depicted here may not be of the highest artistic quality but the message is clear. in the city with a population over 20 million the message is one the residents can easily relate to. in general Mumbai has made considerable efforts to make the place more inhabitable, and the recent abundance of street art is a pleasant improvement.

i had to smile when i noticed the boy's position made it seem like he was planting his tree on the taxi. meanwhile the unknowing taxi driver was catching a few z's, presumably after a long night shift on the road.

suddenly the driver woke up and noticed what the boy was doing to his car so he leaned out the window to talk to him or more likely to scold him. and now it seems like the boy has jumped in the air, perhaps the scooter has come to his rescue.

just a few meters ahead another black and yellow is parked exactly where someone seems to be releasing a shiny sunbird but the guys in the taxi are too occupied with their phones to pay any attention to the wondrous event. the pile of cardboard boxes completes the setting.

Great wall with this message. Trees should be planted in real life to make cities more "breathable". Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great week
