October forest scenes from New Hampshire

we had the fortune of visiting my brother in New Hampshire just around the time the foliage was at it's peak. it's a wonderful time of year with the crisp cool mountain air and the bright foliage shining in the sun and the muted fallen leaves covering the forest floor

red maple leaves are among the most colorful

the forest has a variety of both deciduous and evergreen trees and plenty of water, from tiny streams flowing down the hillsides to rivers cascading down the mountains

a beech leaf catching some of its last rays

oak leaves aren't among the brightest

wood sorrel and moss add green to the mix on the ground

thanks. surrounded by wonderful nature we had a family gathering where i met some of my cousins i hadn't seen for decades. lots to catch up on
