my entry to the world's longest shadow contest

at 300 weeks this must be the world's longest shadow contest and it deserves one of the world's longest shadows

this shadow was so long i could only fit the legs in the photo! the whole street was filled with wonderfully long shadows but just as i was taking the shot somebody on a moped zoomed into the image (the blur on the left) from behind me lighting up the left side of the road.

i took this shot 30 seconds later lights from vehicles behind the group in front of me cast shadows towards me but at the same time there is a vehicle behind me and another person casting our shadows on the right side of the road. the darkest patches occurred where shadows from both directions intersect.

now you may be wondering why there are so many people in the middle of the road at night. well, that is because there is a temple festival going on with thousands of people participating. there are temporary shops all along both sides of the road and people coming and going. the vehicles had a tough time getting through but no pity for them, that's how life is here in India
