what are the chances of guessing what is casting these shadows?

no need to guess, here it is:

there is definitely something fishy about these shadows. i'm not sure exactly what to call these things but i presume the fish figures are holders for some skewers for some hors d'oeuvres, most likely primarily for some seafood items. the wood carvings aren't mine and there was nobody to ask about them where i found them. anyway, it's not something i would have in my kitchen but i was more interested in the curious shadows they made rather than the item itself.
