(Edited)

this week my entry is from the Mauli temple in Shiroda, a small coastal town in southwestern Maharashtra, India. it is the main temple of the town and recently they held a nine day festival. but for this post i am focusing on an interesting shadow from the overhanging roof of a section of the main building. the fascia is designed with consecutive semicircles, creating points between them. they cast a nice rhythmic shadow on the temple wall

my contest entry below is from a corner of a wing of the temple. the shadows of the two points to the right of the top of the photo fall nicely on the wall as in the photo above. however the point on the left closest to the corner disappears in the shadow of the overhanging perpendicular wall. at first glance it may seem like it falls farther away on the pink and white wall in the background but that wall is from another building. that shadowy point is actually the core shadow or silhouette of the overhanging fascia on the far side of the wing of the temple.

aren't shadows fun!

The picture you took is very beautiful, the shadows are very neatly arranged.
