entry smap 265: two birds
we keep water out for the birds in several places in the garden. perhaps the most visited is in front of the house where there are different sized bowls situated to accomodate several birds at a time. sometimes the species are mixed and they manage to get along without too much quarreling. when the birds are the same species as this pair of orange-headed thrushes Geokichla citrina here, they are generally more relaxed. of course in a group there may be some discussion regarding whose turn it is at which bowl etc but when in pairs they usually take their time and share.
some species come for a quick drink and fly off quickly while others, including these thrushes are more interested in taking a proper bath. and that often involves making a good splash.

this last photo is my contest entry. i took these shots with my S22 phone. do not copy and share them without my expressed permission
It is fun to watch them taking bath. 🙂
