RE: International Abstract Art – Gesture and Matter 📷 Málaga – Spain

Good afternoon @avdesing, like many collective works, it has the advantage that some pieces appeal to you, and the disadvantage that not all the artists will appeal to everyone. I enjoy, and have greatly enjoyed, the various revolutions in art that have taken place since the 19th century... up until, precisely, after WWII. From the mid-20th century to the present, I like individual artists, but the schools and movements interest me less. They don't usually resonate with me much. However, the idea of working with materials and textures can yield very good results.

And speaking of artists, I really, really, really enjoyed the section of the exhibition called "Black Is Also a Color," and besides Saura, I also saw Millares there, one of the most powerful abstract artists that Spain has produced.

Thank you very much for the exhibition and for your comments.

Have a good afternoon.

It looks like that section’s the winner – those paintings were really good, although, as you know, I do like colour.

Well, I’ve got Millares’ work… I’ve chosen it as one of my favourites, so you know it’ll be going in a special spot on ‘Sunday Art’. Thank you very much!!
