⌛His Sands Are But Few

Took Maddux to the veterinarian today, see if there was anything we could do. They prescribed some drugs and discussed euthanasia. He can't stand on his own anymore and after I lift his 160 pound ass up, still has trouble walking. The past couple days, I've been holding him up by the tail quite frequently so he can maintain his balance. You can imagine the size of a mess a Dane makes that doesn't want to get up and go outside to go potty.

Those three know he's pretty close to expiring and it will be discussed this evening. They've lost a lot over the past few years. Figure Sunday, will give him an all you can eat buffet of steak and peanut butter and pancakes. They seem to be his favorite.

He's about the best you could ask for in a companion dog. Loving, loyal and a great pillow! Ha! He will be missed come time though. One thing I love about dogs is they don't pretend to be anything other themselves. So I ask you, do you REMEMBER TO BE YOU? I always am, even with a Kevorkian mask.

Don't worry. After he passes into the ghost realm, he'll still be with you and will protect you.

He truly looks incredible! Really sorry to hear that mate. Lots of love to the big fella, and the whole fam during the coming days. So cool that you're thinking of pancakes. Pray for peace for ya'll. Take care.

Our fur babies can be closer to us than people. I will be thinking of you and the girls, with special thoughts come Monday my friend. Lots of hugs your family's way.

Dam dude that sucks. I’m sorry. At the end with my golden Roscoe, I had to carry my buddy out to go. It was such a low point of my life. You’ve lost enough and the angels as well. Good luck brother.

Ugh, that sucks. I am sorry. We took our dog Jovi to the vet too this morning. We were expecting similar news, but it appears she still has some pep in here. She is pushing 14 years old, so every time we take her in we never know if they are going to tell us it is time.

Part of it though, you know one day we'll outlive them 😊

Yeah, I know. It's gonna be rough. Without kids our pup is the closest thing we have. I'll be devastated but I know it's coming sooner rather than later.

I'm saddened to hear that, pets are so much a part of our families so when the time came, it becomes very painful. I haven't even replaced either 'Runt' 😽 or 'Toteau' 🐶 yet. I hope your girls will understand that Daddy will need a lot of support to get through this.
Much ❤️🤗

Feel ya. Still not got a new friend since Wenzday but looks like I'll be in the market for a fishing doggie and a guard/companion one.

I know they grew up with him and he been a family member for long, biggest dog I know but seem so kind and gentle ❤️ it is hard when we loose them and I know you and your Girls lost much over the years and pets included.
That is why memories are precious and even after they pass, they still lives on in our ❤️ and mind.

MANY HUGS 🤗❤️🤗
And love to You and yours

makes me think of Bobby who also is starting to feel the Age a bit

They did too, think it hit them harder than me since I've dealt with things like this multiple times already 😣

The hardest part about having such a fantastic dog in your family is having to say goodbye. 🌹

My heart goes out to you and your princesses, hon. I hope that all the wonderful memories and seeing Maddux's excitement when he gets his buffet will give some comfort.

So much love to you all. ❤️

always hard to lose our furbabies. Thank God for the resilience of children with all they have been through. Having their loving dad as a constant makes a huge difference.

Its so true, dogs cannot play a false game and we can learn a lot. Not only a lot, we can learn everything we need to know from them.
Sorry you will have to let him go :-( He reminds me of my second dog, long ago.
First the nose, then the area around the eyes gettin also white as if they are collecting all the last energy from the body to stay as long as possible with us.
I wish Maddux, the girls and you strenght and love to come through these times. ❤️
