Family is Family🐕‍🦺

Regardless how many legs or amount of hair. One of the worst parts about being human is we often outlive our other mothered fam. In 'dog years', Maddux was 129. Far beyond his expectancy. Marvelous dog. He will be missed. So, through some angry tears, I give you his last day.

I have pictures of his last day too. He got a jar of crunchy peanut butter before I drove him in the truck one last time. His hips were completely shot. He couldn't stand without my help and tripped over his own feet. It hurt to the point where he wouldn't even get up most of the time and was leaving me messes on the floor instead of proudly watering the trees for his perimeter.

That last shot, I can hardly look at. It's like he knew. I bout clocked the fukn guy that was trying to tell me how much it was. Told him I settle up in a minute. He was being persistent so I got red and they had him removed from my sight until I left. I pick his ashes up on Wednesday. Not sure what to do with them. But, he often kept me sane since Wenzday died. He'd tell me to REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even with dust in my eyes.

I am sorry to hear about Maddux's passing @enginewitty💔

Eighteen plus years was a long life, especially for a large breed Great Dane dog. Clearly you guys took extra good care of him!

I know how much you and your family hurt. Maddux was just like a child and huge part of your lives going back even before the princesses were born. The alpha male - your first baby.

Maddux is with Wenzday now. Both of them will meet you again one day on the other side!

Sending cyber hugs and love to all of you!

Oh, damn damn damn. That's right up there with the hardest day a human has to live through.

Know you and the girls have my very best thoughts going for you.

Awwwe... I know you lost much already and dogs to that been family. It is hard when we outlive them and I know Maddox been a part of your family long time.
He is so beautiful and even if he is huge he looks so sweet. Those eyes 😍 I remember asking you long ago how big he was as I never seen one like that... Then you sended me a picture where you stood up and he stood next to you on 2 legs with his front paws on your shoulders... He was taller than you and I went all... WHAAAAT? 😁 Lol
Made me a hint of how big he was, also your Girls slept on him and I can only imagine what you all going through now 💗

I bet he is with Wednesday now making all kinds of cute trouble in dog heaven. And they both looking at you all... Thanks daddy for all you did for us and the life you gave us ❤️❤️

So sorry for your loss love 💋
Much love 💗

So sorry to hear this mate! I've shed a tear for your buddy Maddux. I've lost a dog too although my last experience was years ago, I remind myself that they enjoy the companionship as much as we do, maybe even more. He looks like he had a great life with you and your family! Much love dude!

I’m so sorry brother…..🥲 Putting down a dog is the hardest thing. I was a mess when I put my buddy Roscoe down. I ended up burying his ashes under his favorite tree in the yard. Got luck if you need anything you got my number bro.

I've been there. It's hard. Pain of loss fades with time, but can still strike with unexpected power even years later. Doing what is necessary still never feels right.

I don't even know what to say. Cause it feels like nothing anyone says would make it okay. But if it helps, Maddux will keep watching over you all with love in his eyes from now.🌺

RIP Maddux! I'm so sorry that you had to say goodbye to a cherished family member... huge hugs to you homie!

It's beautiful to think on all the years you had with him though. I know he had a great life, and it looks like his last day was filled with just as much love. 🤗

Oh man I am sorry to hear that.

This is one of the last we have of our old girl who was also well past her expiration date. I am lucky it is my better half’s department to deal with dog stuff as a vet tech but man that disnt make the last day easy. Sometimes it is just time and even she hesitated out of love for our fuzzy family member of 16 years. So damn hard.

Living in a household of women like you, i developed the overlap strategy. Make sure you have the next one before the first one leaves. So, now i have this dood on my lap as i cruise my feed for friends posts.

I feel for you snd hope you have another one already there to soak up the emotion and attention. Those pictures will always be touched with sorrow but will bring a little more joy when you look back at them over time.

Condolences man.

Sorry to read all that. If he was in that much pain, you made the right call. But I know that doesn't make it any easier. May he RIP.

Oh man, I am sorry. We are actually going through this right now. Our lab mix just turned 14 and her rear legs are really starting to give out. She has nerve damage and makes messes in the house as well. We know we are on borrowed time with her right now. My heart is with you.

I am feeling sorry for Maddux. Losing a pet is losing a family member. They gave you love for many years, so it's not easy. Especially if you see them fight against their pains in the end :'(

Maddux was such a gorgeous dog. It's not difficult to see how much he meant to you and you to him, Witty. Listening to you almost broke my heart. The pain is so deep. What a beautiful old boy 🥰 So many life memories to hold onto. It is always incredibly difficult to say goodbye to our fur babies. Sending you and your family love. !LUV 💗
