It Was Such A Long Walk - Wednesday Walk
It Was Such A Long Walk - Wednesday Walk
It's another beautiful Wednesday, my day really started with a lot of activities, I woke up as early as six o'clock and began putting things inorder so that I can have free time to talk a walk around.
I left home around 2 pm and while going out I caught a scene of some children making houses with palm fronds. It's something common with children but recently it has disappeared, I never thought I would see a thing like that again. I was so happy seeing that so I began my shots from there. None of them was even conscious that i was taking pictures of what they were doing. I remember those days I made a lot of those houses too.
You see those two boys carry that palm frond ? They made my day, till now I am still wondering why they took it on their shoulders like that after knowing there are thorns on it and what they were really going to do with it. LOL. I wish I had enough time to wait and see the end of the matter. Above all, the smiles on the faces of those children can show how happy they are. They made me wished I was a child .
From that place, I decided to take a back road to continue my journey and I was blessed with another sight. It's rainy season everywhere you turn to now, you see farms and different kinds of crops. Though rain is not falling consistently as it should be in my place these days but all thanks to God, People were still able to farm.
Ideally by this time some crops like groundnuts are supposed to be due for consumption but it's now that some people are even weeding. Well I saw this farm with both maize and yam. The maize is gradually getting to the promise land, LOL. I mean it will soon be due for consumption and for the yam, there is still a long way to go. You can see them for yourself, Incase you need any start packing your money. I really can't tell why the farm is fenced but the owner knows best.
While on that same path I came across a farm and I saw a tree cut down and another mango tree having it's bark peeled round at the stem region, it's obvious they are about terminating it too. Development is really causing harm to some plants. With the way deforestation is prevalent now, I am afraid very soon we will not have some species of plant in some places.
Finally at the main road, the first thing that caught my attention was a filling station that used to be filled with a lot of cars and motor bikes coming to buy fuel but it was empty today. I saw other filing stations too with very few customers and I am sure, it due to the subsidy removal in the country. Most people prefer to trek than to board a car or motorcycle because of how expensive they are currently.
I also visited the market, I am so glad seeing people doing their business with smiles on their faces even with the current situation of things in the country.
I never realized how beautiful the sky looks until I looked at it today. Truly everything that God made is good. The color is amazing, I thought to Capture it alone but then I saw that it was even more beautiful with the the electric pole and wire, so I captured them together. Please if you are looking for anything beautiful to behold, the sky is a perfect one to begin with.
I saw this small girl hawking water and I was so pissed off but there is nothing I could do. This girl is not even a teenager yet but her parents allowed her to go about hawking water. I wonder what they are really thinking, she's only a child anything can happen to her. Adults in this time are not even safe talk more of children, I wish this thing would stop someday.
Lastly while coming home, I saw the sunsetting because it was already evening. what a perfect day, its been a while since i paid close attention to watch the sun setting. So I took advantage of the opportunity and captured it. That was how my Wednesday walk went.
N.B : All images were captured using my android phone.
so much to see on your walk
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk :)
Thank you so much for reading.. 🥰
I just read it but I am unable to see any pictures here. I tried to see both ecency and peakd both frontend but same result. I think some kind of error happened.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed very much.

What an interesting virtual tour it is, I haven't been here physically, but trust me, when I come around your hood, I would be able to locate the Akwanga modern market.
Thanks for sharing, I am a #dreemerforlife
Don't worry, when you are around, I promise to take you there myself..
Thanks for reading
It is a tragedy that children are left to fend for themselves rather than be put in school. What state is this? The sky is indeed beautiful and I love your walk.
#Dreemerforlife
It's Nasarawa state. It's so pathetic but I don't think there would ever be an end to this children hawking stuff.
Thanks for reading ma
I love the sight of those kids. I quickly reflected on how my twin brother and I built a house using palm fronts 😂
.life as a kid was sweet honestly..u had fun walking and observing the farm..nice

Hehehe.. like they should bring back old days... It's been a while I took a walk like that.. I really enjoyed it though...
Thanks for stopping by mom🥰
Wow, at first I thought you were on some kind jungle pilgrimage😅😂.
I guess those kids are used to doing things like that, so they are very aware of the thorns.
Wow, you guys have nice roads, it has been awhile have seen such nice roads here in Nigeria apart from cities and urban areas.
What is your deal with hawking woman, was she modelling for you are what 😂😅😂
It seems this rainy season spreads across all part of Nigeria, it seems it is going to be raining soon, like it has been raining here for the past 3 days🤦🤦
Your walk seems adventurous, nice pictures by the way

LoL!!! it's all part of it, I visited the jungle too that day, I was just scared to get some shots because of a lion I saw at the entrance 😂
Omo, kids are funny honestly, well, its their time to enjoy.
Though the road used to be very bad but the federal government choose to do something about it last year and still under construction. We appreciate them for it.
That's not a woman hawking, it's a girl, that's my pain, she's very young bro and we know how Insecure the country is now.
But rain is giving us headache here, we can count the number of times it fell so far.
Thanks so much for this wonderful feed back broh... Don't worry I'll take you with me when next I am going for an adventurous walk 😂😂
I appreciate the invite but I'm not a fan of the jungle 😅😂
LoL . Don't worry I will carry you on my back, there's no need to dread
