Carrot Farm // Starting A Carrot Farming System For The First Time In Our House .

This is our carrot farm, is not too long or large because is just this year we starting farming carrot in our house. Other people or farmers of other community has been farming carrot for a while close to our area or neighboring villages but we haven't farmed it before till this year.
My father decided to farm a little portion of carrot farm this year just outside the backyard farm we have in the village. I was the person that brought and gave the idea of farming or starting a carrot farm and told my father about it and he accepted we should give it a try perhaps it will work and if it doesn't work we will stop it but if works then we will continue farming. I have a friend whose his parents farm carrots very well and he has told me so many things about the carrot farming and how much they have gained by selling the harvested carrots in the market. Considering only few people in the state, precisely nasarawa state farm carrots, let alone in the village. Most of the carrots we used to buy in the market has been imported from far north states , like Kano, Jos, Kaduna and even part of Benue state to our state Nigeria and our various localities.

So far this year my father has accepted my idea and agreed to start the carrot farm by cultivate little portion of land . Carrot is a crop vegetable too, and is good for eating even as fresh or cooked with good. Those working in food industries and companies can also process carrot to juice, animals supplements, and even powder. Carrots also aid in strengthening body immune system and make it function adequately. This carrots aids in diet with vegetables.
At first, my father got scared or seems not to be interested in starting this carrot farming because he knows carrots is mostly farmed and grow well around those cooler area of Nigeria, like Jos plateau, Kano and Kaduna and even part of the Abuja area. But he never thought our land nasarawa state is good enough and could be fertile for farming carrots. Soma people said carrots does so many things to human being, helping the bones to be stronger because carrots in water high and lower in calories. Carrots can be cooked with rice, beans, even with soups as well. And to eat carrots raw, it's keep or give your body strength, more like vitamin C. Also helping for easy digestion as the major work of a vegetable.

seven weeks now, we are waiting for when the carrots will be due for harvesting. In the village , so many people kepts asking us each time they are passing us while working in the farm to their farms that what kind of crops did we planted here . So many people in the village doesn't know how carrots crops looks like because we have not been farming it in my localities.

It looks strange and new for so people looking at it in the farm without knowing what is it . But then my father and I were shocked seeing how the carrots crops ha has germinate to this extent, we thought our lands isn't fertile land enough or the crop will not grow well but we thought wrong. Now the crop is germinating well and healthier, it's been seven weeks and is still growing gradually to maturity then we will harvest.

As a farmer, any crop you thought it will not grow well in the land or your locality because no one has ever farmed it to your eyes witness is a wrong ideaoogy or mindset. Every crops grows in every land provided it has gotten the required king of soil needed. And again as a farmer, don't be afraid of starting a new type of crops in your area that has not be planted before. You can be the first farmer to plant such crop and from you other farmers will come and learn from you and get suck crops from you and plant it in their lands as well and within few years that new crop will circulate around the locality.
