Greetings dear and appreciated friends, happy day to all of you, today I am here to share with you all my despair and sadness to see how expensive it has become to get sick in this country.
I do not know if I had told you in any other post that my little girl had been referred by her pediatrician to an otolaryngologist because he had noticed that her flu was not normal and her tonsils were larger than normal, but as the problem was more than all nasal there was suspicion that the adenoids were just as big.
I was researching prices for consultations and they varied between $50 and $60, so Despite my concern I decided to wait 15 days for it to be the beginning of the month and go to the nearest public health center to make an appointment , but because that day I was informed that the doctor enia every 15 days, twice a month, and that the next two months were ful so they were paralyzed appointments.
Under my desperation I tried to meditate since it was for a little girl and we had already waited so long, the answer was that if I wanted to come for the next appointment to see if any appointment was missing and finally they could see if the doctor wanted to see me but that it would not be safe, it was a risk. To wait one more month since for the holy week the doctor will not come.
My husband and I decided to make the effort and gather to go to the medical consultation to a private center, immediately we got the appointment from one day to the other without problem, and there we are yesterday Monday from early in the office of the clinic the valley waiting to be treated, my little girl is not very fond of doctors but there she was beautiful with that smile with her daddy and I waiting for our turn because we arrived before the hour.
We did not wait more than half an hour when we were called by the doctor who very kindly and lovingly attended us, evaluated and thoroughly reviewed my little girl, using a thin tube type device that while she looked directly we could also observe everything through a screen.
He checked her nose, ears and throat and among many things he told us that her tonsils are super big and for sure her adenoiditis too, but it is impossible to see them with the naked eye, he also noticed something a little unusual in her ear so he sent us a couple of tests, some rx to look at her adenoids and one to evaluate the eardrum.
But. He told her that if it was what was thought of the adenoids the treatment was to operate, my husband asked him what the approximate cost of this intervention would be and you will not believe me, I almost fainted, 3000 $ approximately.
He indicated us a spray or pouf for the nose to help her with her nasal breathing and after much conversation we left there amazed and very sad.
An intervention that according to something simple can be of such high cost, something that for us today is an unaffordable price, how sad how expensive health care has become in this country.
