Wednesday Walk: Seahouses: Harbour Boats, Yarn Bombs and Other Quirky Things

While on a visit to Seahouses, a coastal village in Northumberland, UK, we really enjoyed walking around the harbour and streets. This is my #wednesdaywalk, initiated by @tattoodjay.

The harbour in Seahouses was busy with colourful fishing boats lined up beside the docks. Nets, ropes and fishing equipment were stacked on the boats, showing the harbour’s connection to the fishing industry.

There was a boat in the shallow water while the tide was out. A nice reflection of the boat could be seen in the water.

Further along the coast, the sea was rougher with waves crashing against the rocky shoreline. The rocks along the beach were covered in patches of green seaweed.

Along the streets there were lots of colourful displays of sea themed yarn bombing hanging on posts. We spotted knitted seals, lobsters and other sea creatures in bright colours. The displays definitely caught your attention as you walked past.

One of the things that made us smile was spotting plant pots shaped like wellington boots in somebody’s window.

Overall, it was a really enjoyable walk around Seahouses with a mix of the harbour, colourful boats and the quieter streets. Even the yarn bombing and the quirky displays, added a bit of character to the village. It’s the kind of place where you can just wander without much of a plan and still keep spotting little things that bring a smile to your face.

That brought back memories, we stayed in Seahouses a couple of years ago when went to see the puffins.
Oh, that's good. I'm glad it brought back some good memories.
Had some great fish and chips there too.
You can’t beat a plate of chips!
