Wednesday Walk: A Heron in Ringwood Park

(Edited)

For my #wednesdaywalk initiated by @tattoodjay we visited a place that I'd not been since my youth and that dear reader is a very long time ago!

A lot of Ringwood Lake had patches of lily pads on it, but unfortunately, they are not very colourful at the moment.

We passed a few wild flowers including poppies. I like to see random wild flowers that have set themselves.

There wasn't many ducks on the lake but we did spot a heron on the far side. I didn’t see it move a muscle.

We followed the old iron railing up into the wooded area. The railing looked as old and weathered as I did. I'm always pleased to see certain things still in place. I always think it adds character to the place.

A lot of exposed tree roots were on show but the tree was still hanging in there.

We bumped into an older chap with his dog. He said the park hadn't changed much apart from a new children's play area and a BMX bike park. Some things are best left alone. The park was very well maintained though.

It was a nice flat, easy circular walk in the end.

Wow I am impressed with the amount of lillies you have there!

Herons are so cool, I love watching them, trying to spot a muscle being moved!
